While many are currently hard at work to attept to secure their first home, individuals or couples with bigger aspirations could even buy their own village… at more or less the same price.
Salto de Castro, a village in the North-Western region of Spain, is up for sale for the asking price of €260,000, including 44 homes, a hotel, a school, a swimming pool and even a barracks which formerly housed the civil guard.
The village has been abandoned for over three decades, with the primary intention of converting it into a touristic hotspot failing due to the eurozone crisis. With such a low asking price, the village reportedly attracted 50,000 visitors since it first went on sale.
Real estate company Idealista stated that the village requires an investment of around €2 million to make it 100% workable and profitable.
Would you consider buying this village?
