These celebrities have the most expensive insured body parts

Oct 31 2021 Share

With wealth comes the possibility of doing almost anything. And for some celebrities, that means insuring some of their body parts to become some of the most expensive biological items in the world. Owning the world’s most expensive car or business is one thing, but for these individuals… well, it’s their legs and, well, um, butts.

Let’s start off simple shall we (even if it’s totally bizarre)? Julia Roberts has had her smile (yes, you read that correctly) insured for a whopping $30 million. Now we’re not sure if it’s her entire mouth or just the ‘act’ of smiling that is insured such a way, but Roberts has gone and placed the price tag at a staggering amount for a showcase of her pearly white teeth.

Next up – legs. The first few make quite some sense – Gareth Bale’s legs are worth $126 million, Cristiano Ronaldo’s legs are worth $144 million, David Beckham’s legs are at $195 million and Lionel Messi set the price at $900 million. Given these are footballers, it’s not that hard to wrap your mind around the concept. But in comes Taylor Swift…

Iconic singer Taylor Swift insured her legs for $40 million, meaning an individual leg is worth a whopping $20 million. This was reported in a 2015 entertainment news portal, making Swift’s legs some of the most expensive limbs in the world. And finally, we couldn’t finish off this list without Kim Kardashian, who insured her butt at $100 million, pumped up from an initial $20 million. We’ll let you sit with that for a bit… pun not intended.

3 day forecasts difficult due to unpredictable weather patterns

3 day forecasts difficult due to unpredictable weather patterns
Oct 31 2021 Share

According to Facebook Weather Page ‘Aggornament tat-temp’, no lengthy forecasts exceeding the 3 day mark will be possible due to the immensely unpredictable weather patterns making their way across the Mediterranean and, by extension, Malta. The first wave of stormy weather will enter Europe, bringing with it rain and low temperatures. This Atlantic produced forecast is set to be intense with strong winds, but the presence of high pressures in the Mediterranean right over Libya could outmatch this climate concoction.

Sunday is expected to be mainly cloudy, with the possibility of rain showers. The worst of the storm is set to hit the middle of the Mediterranean by 11pm. Some Maltese localities have allegedly already experienced 20mm of rain whereas other localities in Gozo experienced none. The upcoming three days seem to be free of rain however. November will kick off with high temperatures, but these forecasts are to be taken with a pinch of salt. In other words, the weather is just as confused as the rest of us trying to figure it out!

Maltese referee suspends match after assault by foreign footballer

Maltese referee suspends match after assault by foreign footballer
Oct 31 2021 Share

A post uploaded to social media alleges how Maltese referee CJ Saliba had to suspend a football match after he was assaulted by a foreign football player playing with Valletta Stars. The MAFA match, between the aforementioned Valletta Stars and Marsa St. Michaels was given a premature end due to physical assault enacted by the foreign player which resulted in Saliba ending up seriously injured and knocked out on the pitch.

The incident sparked much anger on social media, with one particular post uploaded by Anton Rea Cutajar, who outlined the incident. Cutajar then went on to ask why media houses were not reporting such an incident, taking it upon himself to do so. He expressed solidarity with Saliba and wished him a speedy recovery, but rhetorically asked: Report everything or report nothing… or do we not report it because this person is Maltese?’.

A statement by the football club later condemned the actions held by the football player, stating that as an organization it always discouraged such behavior on the pitch. ‘The committee of Valletta Stars has taken immediate action against the player and will be given an indefinite suspension’ it read. What do you make of this situation?

‘She was my friend’: Alec Baldwin breaks Rust incident silence

'She was my friend': Alec Baldwin breaks Rust incident silence
Oct 31 2021 Share

Following the horrific incident in which cinematographer Halyna Hutchins lost her life after an accidental fatal gunshot from actor Alec Baldwin, the latter finally broke the silence by saying that; ‘She was [his] friend.’ The incident occurred on the set of a film, Rust, in new Mexico earlier this month, with the actor speaking to global news agency BackGrid in Vermont after he was photographed having lunch with his wife. ‘There are incidental accidents on film sets from time to time, but nothing like this’ he said. ‘This is a one-in-a-trillion episode/event.’

Baldwin, who was urged by his wife to stop speaking, allegedly said that he was setting things straight so that photographers would stop following his family and that he was ‘ordered’ by the sheriff’s department not to discuss the case. ‘A woman died. She was my friend. When I arrived in Santa Fe to start shooting, I took her to dinner’ he said. Baldwin also revealed that he was in constant contact with Hutchins’ husband and that he was very worried about the family.

Investigations alleged that there was ‘some complacency’ in how weapons were handled on the set, but it was too soon to determine if charges would be filed. County sheriff Adan Mendoza said that 500 rounds of ammunition – a mix of blanks, dummy rounds and suspected live rounds – were found. Baldwin himself said that he was told that the gun he was handed was safe. He also expressed interest in an ongoing effort to limit the use of firearms on a set.
