The Weeknd has unveiled the cover art for his highly anticipated album Hurry Up Tomorrow, the final chapter in his trilogy that began with After Hours in 2020 and continued with Dawn FM in 2022. The announcement, which came earlier this week, has sparked considerable excitement among fans eager for the concluding installment.

The Weeknd complemented the cover art reveal with a visually striking video featuring a poetic narrative:

“Yesterday was fourteen years ago… we held our breath falling into a shimmering sea in the after hours of the night. Attempted to cleanse the wounds with melodies and lights, a bulletproof bandage to shield what lies beneath.”

The cover art for Hurry Up Tomorrow presents a close-up of The Weeknd’s face, marked by dark shadows under his eyes. This minimalist approach contrasts sharply with the elaborate fake facial prosthetics seen during the After Hours era and the gray beard associated with Dawn FM. The new artwork hints at a more introspective and raw exploration, raising anticipation for how The Weeknd will wrap up this distinctive musical journey.

Queen Elizabeth II, the longest-reigning monarch in British history, passed away at 3:20pm on Thursday, 8 September 2022, at the age of 96. Her death marked the end of a 70-year reign that began in 1952. Known for her unwavering commitment to duty and service, Queen Elizabeth was a symbol of stability throughout her long rule. She died peacefully at Balmoral Castle in Scotland, with her son Charles, now King Charles III, and her daughter Princess Anne by her side.

A beloved figure across the Commonwealth, Queen Elizabeth had a special connection to Malta, where she lived as a young princess during her husband Prince Philip’s naval service in the late 1940s. The island remained dear to her, and she returned several times as monarch, including a visit in 2015 for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.

Following her passing, King Charles III ascended the throne. His coronation in May 2023 blended traditional ceremony with touches of modernity, reflecting his vision of evolving the monarchy while honouring its heritage. Despite challenges, such as the ongoing rift with Prince Harry and Charles’s own health issues, including treatment for cancer, the monarchy remains a steady institution. As King Charles continues his public duties and plans for a royal tour of Australia, discussions of a potentially scaled-back role for the monarchy have emerged. Yet, the institution endures, guided by the legacy of Queen Elizabeth’s remarkable reign.

The third edition of Gozo Pride, organized by LGBTI+ Gozo, celebrated LGBTIQ+ rights with a Pride March in Rabat, Gozo.

Various activities were held in Villa Rundle Gardens, raising awareness and offering psychosocial and specialized services for LGBTIQ+ individuals and their families.

Gozo Minister Clint Camilleri highlighted that the Pride March is a celebration of love, diversity, equality, and human rights. While Malta has made significant progress in this sector, he emphasized that obstacles still exist.

Camilleri also stressed the importance of continuing the fight for equality and noted that the Pride March is not only a celebration but also a demonstration of unity and solidarity, especially with those still facing discrimination.

Parliamentary Secretary for Equality and Reforms, Rebecca Buttigieg, noted Malta’s advancements in civil rights laws for the LGBTIQ+ community, which are now among the best in Europe.

However, she acknowledged the need for further work to change attitudes and combat misinformation. She also highlighted the introduction of psychosocial services for the LGBTIQ+ community and their families, including outreach services in Gozo, through an agreement with FSWS.
