Athlete Runs 10KM Marathons Despite Paralysis Diagnosis

Tim Marovt is a 21 year old athlete who has been running 10 kilometre marathons and literally climbing mountains despite a paralysis diagnosis which told him he’d never walk again.

Posting his journey to social media, Tim explains how in 2023 alone he ran 10km marathons in London, Paris, Dallas, Manchester, Vienna and Ljubljana.

He also managed to conquer the highest peak in Slovenia and even went skiing. Writing on one of his posts, he expressed his commitment of running at least one half marathon distance. 

It’s all about the power of the mind for Tim.

Speaking to MaltaDaily, a local farmer who will be joining the protest today, beginning in Ta’ Qali’s Vegetable market and making its way through various Maltese localities, explained why he will be demonstrating.

The 12km protest drive is being organised by the Għaqda Bdiewa Attivi and is directed at EU policies which farmers say are threatening their livelihoods. 

Following similar protests happening all across Europe, the farmers are demanding a lowering in taxes as well as stronger import controls due to the use of pesticides from outside the EU.

Cyclist At Risk Of Dying After Accident In Mellieħa

A 31 year old Mellieħa resident, at around 1300hrs, was taken to Mater Dei Hospital after suffering injuries when driving a bike in the vicinity of Triq Dawret il-Mellieħa, Mellieħa.

Preliminary investigations showed that a farmer spotted the man on the ground next to the bike. He immediately contacted emergency services which convened on site. 

The man was given medical aid and taken to Mater Dei, where he was certified as having suffered serious injuries. 

Investigations by the Malta police force are still ongoing.
