The PN Youth Takeover After Shadow Minister Reshuffle

The PN Youth Takeover After Shadow Minister Reshuffle
Jan 14 2024 Share

Following the reshuffling of Robert Abela’s cabinet, Opposition leader Bernard Grech followed suit a week later to reshuffle his own cabinet of shadow ministers.

What was notable about the new reshuffling was that the younger generation of Opposition members took on a more prominent role within the party and the parliament as well.

This of course includes Rebekah Borg, who is now the Shadow Minister for the Environment, having shadowed consumer rights and lands prior to the reshuffle.

Darren Carabott, too, got a new role as the shadow for home affairs and reforms – meaning that he will be taking on issues such as immigration, the prison system and overall national security.

Last but not least is Jerome Caruana Cilia who is now the shadow minister for the economy and enterprise.

Some other notable changes were Adrian Delia’s appointment as Shadow Health Minister from Shadow Transport Minister. This of course follows his court case in relation to the Vitals Steward Health Care scandal.

What do you make of these new roles within the party?

It is officially the beginning of the end.

Following the writer strikes in Hollywood and subsequent deals being struck, Stranger Things has officially commenced filming for the final season of the show.

With the cast back on the set to begin bringing the last season to life, members of the cast have been sharing behind the scenes photos of themselves during the process.

A large black and white photo (except for the number 5 emblem, which glows in an eerie red) shows the entire cast together with the Duffer Brothers, with a caption: ‘THIS IS A CODE RED. STRANGER THINGS 5 PRODUCTION HAS OFFICIALLY BEGUN!!’

Will you be watching the last season of the show?

Too Early To Discuss Helena Dalli As Next President, Says Bernard Grech

Too Early To Discuss Helena Dalli As Next President, Says Bernard Grech
Jan 14 2024 Share

MaltaDaily is currently informed that Helena Dalli is currently one of the favourites for the role being pushed by the Labour Party. However, Bernard Grech said that it’s too premature to discuss Dalli as the next President.

This will be the first time that the President of Malta will be chosen by two-thirds of the members of parliament.

Prior to this, a candidate simply required a simple majority. The Opposition leader told MaltaDaily’s Keane Cutajar that he will not be accepting any last minute surprises or names and calls on the Prime Minister to address the issue as soon as possible.

Speaking to Malta Daily during an official event held by the Nationalist Party, Opposition Leader Bernard Grech stated that Prime Minister Robert Abela, till this very day, has not yet sat down with him to discuss the next president of Malta.

Asking our followers on polls, many people suggested names such as former Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi, former Opposition leader Simon Busuttil, former Foreign Affairs Minister Evarist Bartolo and even current environment minister Miriam Dalli.

What do you think?
