Following the reshuffling of Robert Abela’s cabinet, Opposition leader Bernard Grech followed suit a week later to reshuffle his own cabinet of shadow ministers.
What was notable about the new reshuffling was that the younger generation of Opposition members took on a more prominent role within the party and the parliament as well.
This of course includes Rebekah Borg, who is now the Shadow Minister for the Environment, having shadowed consumer rights and lands prior to the reshuffle.
Darren Carabott, too, got a new role as the shadow for home affairs and reforms – meaning that he will be taking on issues such as immigration, the prison system and overall national security.
Last but not least is Jerome Caruana Cilia who is now the shadow minister for the economy and enterprise.
Some other notable changes were Adrian Delia’s appointment as Shadow Health Minister from Shadow Transport Minister. This of course follows his court case in relation to the Vitals Steward Health Care scandal.
What do you make of these new roles within the party?
