You may remember Concept of Movement, a.k.a The MVMT as the runner up for Malta’s Got Talent first season. Or from the fact that they were the first Maltese dance crew to represent the island at World of Dance Los Angeles.

Now, after much anticipation and experience in the industry, the dance company is putting up their very first theatre show: ‘Il-Ħajja.’

‘Il-Ħajja’ is a one-hour immersive performance ‘that goes beyond movement’ and promises to be ‘a visual representation of life and the self.’

Speaking to MaltaDaily, founder and head choreographer Cheryl Lofreda explained that this is her first time creating a theatre performance & showcasing it in a theatre space.

‘The Meaning behind this piece is basically the path of life, the realisations we make, the thoughts we have and the emotions we feel. It is basically about how a person grows, adapts & finally be ready to change and let his old self go to welcome what life has to offer.’

‘With a lot of thought into creation, endless training hours and passion, I am grateful to be able to produce my first show with my amazing team, Concept of Movement.’

Taking place at Valletta Campus Theatre on November 11th at 19:00 and 21:00hrs and on November 12th 20:00, you can find your tickets here.

PN Calls For Protest Next Sunday After Court Ruling

PN Calls For Protest Next Sunday After Court Ruling

The Nationalist Party has called for a protest in front of Castille this Sunday 29th October at 1600hrs following the court ruling in regards to the Vitals-Steward Hospital case.

With an official slogan reading: ‘Now Bring Back €400 Million’, PN leader Bernard Grech called on the public to join the party in front of Castille after the courts rejected an appeal by Steward against a decision against them last February.

Grech said it is not enough to post on Facebook and to say that it is useless voting due to all parties being the same. ‘The Labour Party in government worked against the people. The Nationalist Party, under Delia and afterwards, worked in favour of the people.’

‘Now we need to bring back the €400 million’ concluded Grech, reiterating the call for the protest.

World’s Oldest Dog Bobi Dies 5 Months After 31st Birthday

World's Oldest Dog Bobi Dies 5 Months After 31st Birthday
Oct 23 2023 Share

The world’s oldest dog, Bobi, passed away at the age of 31, just five months after celebrating his remarkable milestone on a family-run farm in Portugal.

This sad news was shared by a Lisbon-based pet photography studio, praising Bobi for his extraordinary life. In February, Bobi earned the Guinness World Record title for the oldest dog, surpassing a chihuahua from Ohio, USA. He was also recognized as the oldest dog in recorded history, surpassing an Australian cattle dog that lived to be 29 years and five months.

Bobi’s age was officially confirmed by both his vet and a government-authorized pet database in Portugal. Born in 1992, Bobi’s birth date was registered with the Veterinary Medical Service of the Municipality of Leiria.

Leonel Costa, Bobi’s owner since birth, celebrated the dog’s 31st birthday in May with a village-wide event in Conqueiros, Portugal. Costa attributes Bobi’s long life to his serene environment, a diet of human food, and freedom to roam without being leashed.

Bobi’s longevity was also attributed to his genes; his mother lived to 18, and another family dog reached 22. Bobi’s passing elicited an outpouring of grief from pet lovers worldwide, acknowledging the incredible life he led.

Vet and bestselling author Karen Becker, who examined Bobi at his birthday party, paid tribute, emphasizing the profound impact Bobi had on the world.
