After 10 years of keeping you company early in the morning through the radio waves, Abel, JD and Martina, the trio known as The Morning Vibe, will officially be ending their run.

The trio took to their social media platforms to tease the big news, sharing the iconic Looney Tunes end card reading ‘That’s All Folks!’

The trio announced the end this morning, Tuesday 6th August on a special episode of the morning show.

A few days prior, Martina Zammit also shared the results of the Broadcasting Authority survey, which placed the radio show in second place.

‘This confirms that the show is the longest-running TOP breakfast show. Celebrating 10 amazing years on the airwaves, we owe it all to you, our awesome listeners.’

Jonathan Abel too celebrated the achievement, saying that he was always taught to remain humble and not blow his own trumpet.

‘But when a victory lasts for 10 years, A DECADE, then yes, I thought I should write a post to thank you all!’

The helpline number 138, commemorating Jean Paul Sofia’s birthday on August 13th, was launched as a new 24/7 centralized system for inquiries related to construction, health, and safety.

Minister for Justice and Reform of the Construction Sector, Jonathan Attard, introduced this initiative aimed at raising standards in the construction sector and giving a stronger voice to workers and those affected by it.

The helpline connects citizens with the Occupational Health and Safety Authority (OHSA) and the Building and Construction Authority (BCA), ensuring immediate response to high-risk situations and regulatory questions.

Minister Attard emphasized the significance of this initiative as part of broader reforms in the construction sector, expressing that the service was established in remembrance of all victims and their families, particularly honoring Jean Paul Sofia.

The helpline is one of five immediate initiatives announced earlier this year, with further reforms expected soon, including a new OHSA law and free legal services for those impacted by construction issues.

The helpline’s launch underscores the government’s commitment to improving safety and regulation in the construction sector, with trained agents ready to address concerns and direct calls to the appropriate authorities for prompt action.

PN MP Jerome Caruana Cilia issued a statement on the decision, writing that this will serve as a reminder for us not to forget what happened to Jean Paul, and not let it happen again.

A Look At the Latest Turtle Nesting

A Look At the Latest Turtle Nesting
Aug 5 2024 Share

In an extraordinary turn of events, Malta has recorded seven turtle nests this summer. At around 3 am on August 2nd, 2024, an Ecological Monitor at Golden Bay spotted a turtle emerging from the sea. The monitor quickly alerted the Nature Trust – FEE Malta volunteer on duty, who then contacted the nest coordinators and ERA – Environment & Resources Authority officials.

The turtle, identified by a microchip as Shirley, was found to have also laid Nest 4 earlier this year. After laying her eggs, ERA officials cordoned off the new nest to protect it.

This brings the total to an unprecedented seven nests incubating simultaneously on Maltese beaches. Adding to the excitement, Wildlife Rescue Malta has posted footage of these turtles, providing a rare glimpse into their nesting journey.
