A flurry of posts featuring the red, yellow and blue brand have taken over social media following the arrival of LIDL’s clothing line in Malta.
With a collection which features a colourful set of sneakers, LIDL-branded socks, T-shirt and sliders, the products sold like pastizzi, for lack of a better word.
Ironically or not, LIDL has taken over the island as it had in other countries around the world, with its sneakers selling as much as $6,744 online.

Malta has registered 173 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours from 3,380 swab tests, while 135 patients have recovered. This information was announced by the official Facebook page of Malta’s Ministry for Health.
From yesterday’s cases; 32 cases were family members of previously known cases, 14 cases were contact of positive work colleagues, 6 cases were direct contacts with other positive cases and 2 cases were from social gatherings with other positive cases.
To date, Malta has registered 8,420 COVID-19 cases in total, of which: 6,184 have recovered, 103 died and 2,133 are still active.
A former Burmarrad parish priest was sentenced to 3 years in prison after abusing a 13-year-old boy who had shown interest in becoming a priest.
Now close to 50 years old, Fr. Donald Bellizzi was found to engage in non-consensual sexual activities such as oral sex and lasted for more than three years.
The boy told his parents of the abuse when he opened up about his attraction to men, which he said affected his sexual orientation during the years he would attend vocation meetings and live-ins.
The priests name will be listed on the paedophile’s register.

The Kavallieri Handball Club women’s team look to make history as they head to face Greek side ‘A.C. PAOK’ in their first ever foray into the EHF European Cup.
This international competition features more than 41 handball clubs from 18 different European countries while the Maltese team have advanced to the final round before the Last 16 round.
Due to the effects of COVID-19, both matches against A.C. PAOK will be played locally on Friday 20th November and Sunday 22nd November at 6PM, with the matches to be streamed on YouTube, Facebook and TVM Online.
