The end of Fast and Furious?

Director of the Fast and Furious movies, Justin Lin has stated that the 10th and 11th films will be his last. 

However, this does not necessarily mean that the brand’s cinematic universe is over, with ‘Hobbs and Show’ launching a very successful spin-off back in 2019 and cinematic universes seemingly being the trend in modern blockbuster cinema. 

The ninth instalment of the movie franchise was pushed backed due to COVID-19 and is scheduled for May 2021.

Participant in vaccine trial dies in Brazil

A 28-year-old doctor and participant in Oxford University’s clinical trials for the COVID-19 vaccine has died in Brazil.

It has yet to be reported whether the participant had received the actual vaccine or if it was a placebo. In a statement issued by Oxford, it was stated that all of the issues are ‘independently reviewed’ and that there had been no safety concerns on the trial. 

The trials, in collaboration with AstraZeneca have proceeded despite the death.

Baby Gorilla born in Boston zoo

A baby gorilla is the first of its kind to be born in a zoo in Boston. 

The baby, along with his 39-year-old mum are endangered ‘Western lowland gorillas’.

He is currently nameless but both the baby and its mother are in good health.

Two more COVID-19 deaths; death toll rises to 49

The Health Ministry has reported the death of two more people who had contracted COVID-19.

A 72-year-old woman and an 82-year-old man died at Mater Dei, where they had both tested positive for the virus.

The Ministry also reported that both had underlying health conditions.
