Italy Defeat Malta 4-0 in European Championships Qualifier

Oct 15 2023 Share

In a Euro 2024 European Championship qualifier, Italy triumphed 4-0 against Malta.

Despite an intimidating atmosphere in Bari’s San Nicola stadium, Malta displayed some promising play. However, missing key players like Teddy Teuma and Jodi Jones, Malta couldn’t field their best team.

Ferdinando Apap made his season debut for Malta, but Italy dominated, with Giacomo Bonaventura’s strike putting them ahead.

Italy doubled their lead with Domenico Berardi’s goal just before halftime. Despite Malta’s resilience, Italy added a third through Berardi.

Substitute Davide Frattesi sealed the 4-0 victory deep into stoppage time.

Italy now trails England by three points in the group, with Ukraine also in the chase.

Malta faces Ukraine next.

Police Recounts Discovery Of Woman Found Covered in Blood & Vinegar in Imrieħel Diner

Police Recounts Discovery Of Woman Found Covered in Blood & Vinegar in Imrieħel Diner
Oct 14 2023 Share

A Police Sergeant has recounted his experience in the discovery on a woman found calling for help in an Imrieħel diner and being found bloody and covered in vinegar.

The horrific case involves 41-year-old chef Keith Gravina, who is being charged with attacking the woman, causing grievous injuries and injuring her with a metal rod, holding her against her will and being in possession of cocaine.

Sergeant James Azzopardi told the Court that had the police not intervened in time, the situation would have been much worse. Azzopardi recounted that the police heard the woman calling for help and upon knocking against the shutter and notifying that they were the police, Gravina did not open, with the police opening the shutter after around 10 minutes.

Gravina reportedly asked the police what they were doing there and what they were witnessing was just a game, with the alleged attacker reported to be shirtless and the woman undressed and face covered in blood at the time of discovery.

The woman told the police that she did not know if she was raped, but stated that she was tortured for hours, wrapped in electrical cords which Gravina tried to plug in, and had vinegar poured over her head. The remainder of the court case will be held behind closed doors.
