151 COVID-19 cases registered overnight with 180 recoveries

Malta has registered 151 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours from 3,208 swab tests, while 180 patients have recovered. This information was announced by the official Facebook page of Malta’s Ministry for Health.

As of Wednesday 20th January 2021, 15,315 vaccine doses were administered.

To date, Malta has registered 16,280 COVID-19 cases in total, of which: 13,234 have recovered, 245 died and 2,801 are still active.

National Audit Office deems some LESA officers ‘illiterate’ in 2021 report

The National Audit Office has published an extensive report which argues the illiteracy or inability to carry out complex tasks of some Local Enforcement System Agency (LESA) officers.

The NAO’s report highlights the fact that multiple officers lack basic soft skills uninterested in developing their performance and behaviour.

The agency had informed the Audit Office that particular individuals, especially those transferred from a private contractor, failed to meet the quality thresholds required back in 2018.

Obama breaks the internet inaugurating President Joe Biden on Facebook

On his Inauguration Day, President-elect Joe Biden received his fair share of good wishes and tribute posts, but little to none left the same effect as former US President Barack Obama.

Well known for internet-breaking posts and record amounts of likes, Obama shared a Facebook post congratulating Biden which garnered 2.8 million likes and counting.
