May 27 2022 Share

Nowadays, it seems like absolutely everyone is getting into accounting and while such an increase in interest does not seem like something out of the ordinary, it is important to understand why the industry has become such a hot prospect for students across the globe.

Due to the ever-changing circumstances of modern society, the practice of accounting is in demand like never before and when such an industry offers so much room for growth – in addition to the many perks of working in accounting – it’s no wonder that students are becoming so much more engaged. Local companies like business advisory Zampa Debattista offer their employees a 360-degree experience and the following are 6 reasons why you should get into the accounting sector.

Flexible hours

In today’s modern society, flexibility has evolved from a luxury to a necessity. Companies constantly aim to provide optimal working conditions so that employees can work comfortably and conveniently.

At Zampa Debattista, the company’s social aspect is regarded highly. The possibility of flexible hours, work from home and organisation of social activities all contribute to positive company culture with strong relationships, making it the ultimate working environment.

Free ACCA courses via academy & salary increases for each module

As they say: the more you learn, the more you earn. Zampa Debattista provides a platform for growth, with students able to attend ACCA courses for free from the company’s own ZD Academy.

Furthermore, students will not only beef up their repertoire but earn money doing it, with an additional salary increase for every module passed.

Social events

All work and no play… you know how it goes. Working in an industry as demanding as finance requires the right amount of down time to not only take a load off after a hard day’s work but spend time with your colleagues in a relaxed and fun environment.

The company’s multiple social events do not only allow employees to relax and socialise beyond working hours, but cultivate a welcoming and wholesome company culture which benefits everyone.

Encouraging self-development & free webinars

Regardless of where you may work, awareness and self-development are essential to the growth of the individual and the company in general, which is why Zampa Debattista offers multiple free webinars and courses.

Courses vary from the highly technical applicable to specialised in the field to soft skill training applicable to all professionals.

Monthly awareness talks & CSR initiatives

On the topic of awareness, company culture goes beyond what operates within the confines of the office, which is why Zampa Debattista offer monthly awareness talks on various important issues.

Additionally, they also conduct a number of CSR initiatives such as beach clean-ups and blood donation, which brings the team together while contributing towards society at large.

There’s always room for growth

When you work in the finance industry, you choose how much you want to grow. The possibilities are quite literally endless and when working at a dynamic company such as this, you have the opportunity to level up as much as you like.

Husband of teacher killed in Texas school-shooting dies of grief

Husband of teacher killed in Texas school-shooting dies of grief
May 27 2022 Share

Fourth-grade teacher Irma Garcia was one of two faculty members killed on Tuesday during a mass shooting at Robb Elementary in Uvalde, Texas.

Just two days later, on Thursday morning, her husband and high school sweetheart Joe, died from what family members described as a medical emergency.

The pair left behind four children, two boys and two girls, after Joe allegedly fell over due to a heart attack after finding out about the loss of his wife. The kids were aged 23, 19, 15 and 13.

Irma’s cousin Debra Austin wrote on a GoFundMe page that ‘losing the life of his life of more than 25 years was too much to bear. These two will make anyone feel loved no matter what.’

Nephew John Martinez told The New York Times that Joe was 50 years old and had just got home from leaving flowers at his wife’s memorial when he ‘pretty much just fell over.’

Dying from grief, also known as broken heart syndrome, is caused by a surge of stress hormones and is usually caused by an emotionally stressful event. The death of a loved one, according to the American Heart Association, is a common reason for the stress-induced cardiomyopathy.

As for Irma herself, students who survived the shooting described her as a hero, having sacrificed herself to protect the kids in her classroom.
