‘The Divorce Party’: Author Gerard James Borg With New Novel

‘The Divorce Party’: Author Gerard James Borg With New Novel
Oct 14 2024 Share

Prolific author Gerard James Borg – who has penned bestsellers like Sliema Wives and Madliena Married Men is back with a fast-paced whodunnit that will keep the reader turning pages.

Inspired by scrolling through Facebook, amidst the curated perfection of wedding bliss and public displays of affection, the author pondered: What happens when happily-ever-after fades to grey? The silence around the less glamorous realities of marriage birthed the idea for “The Divorce Party,” which morphed into a psychological thriller peeling back the veneer of marital bliss to reveal the raw truths beneath.

THE DIVORCE PARTY is a plot-driven whodunnit that will play games with your mind; a modern-day Agatha Christie with a twist, and a dash of Tom Hindle Netflix suspense that will keep readers guessing till the very end.

The novel revolves around a handsome entrepreneur who, together with his younger and beautiful girlfriend, throws a Divorce Party to celebrate the end of his marriage. The doors of his mega luxurious villa are open to welcome his guests: A soon-to-be ex-wife, a disloyal friend, a flamboyant couple, a bitter half-sister, a neurotic woman, and… an uninvited guest! All of them have secrets. Some, darker than others!

It’s going to be a twisted celebration during a New Year’s Eve weekend. What no one knows is that apart from the canapés and Champagne, the fine-dining and the glamorous atmosphere there is also a killing on the menu. Somebody has murder in mind. Somebody is not who you think they are!

In this twisty thriller set on the island of Gozo – where decadence is served on a silver platter – even the glass walls of the opulent villa seem to be plotting murder!

Yet again, with an English novel like The Divorce Party, Gerard brings something exciting, intriguing, and out-of-the-box to the local publishing scene.
