Teachers to receive vaccine immediately after vulnerable and elderly

Following national discussion, an agreement was established which states that teachers will receive COVID-19 vaccinations right after the elderly and vulnerable.

This decision successfully ends a two-day teachers’ strike with teachers scheduled to receive the jab towards the end of February.

In a video blog with The Malta Independent, statistician Vincent Marmara stated that educators are important when controlling the virus, showing research which outlines that COVID-19 cases reduced when schools opened.

Nadur Mayor confirms no carnival celebrations this year, after site spreading false claims

Nadur Mayor, Edward Said has taken to Facebook to confirm that no mass activities will be organised for Carnival this year.

An international site by the name of, ‘CARNIVALAND’ is advertising false information that a street party and the usual celebrations will be taking place in Nadur during carnival between the 12th and 16th of February.

Edward Said reached out on behalf of this fake news and said that,
“some media channels decide on others’ behalf… The Nadur Local Council is committed to keep on safeguarding public health and WILL NOT organise any mass events this Carnival.”

FAKE NEWS ‼️ We are still amazed who gives such information and how on earth some media channels decide on others'…

Indonesian passenger plane missing 4 minutes after take off from Jakarta

Indonesian Sriwijaya Air passenger plane went missing this morning after 4 minutes of taking off from Jakarta.

Flightradar24 Tweeted,

“Sriwijaya Air flight #SJ182 lost more than 10.000 feet of altitude in less than one minute, about 4 minutes after departure from Jakarta,”

The plane was a Boeing 737-500 “classic” with registration number PK-CLC (MSN 27323).

Some people have reported seeing or hearing explosions and some have reported finding objects from the plane.
