Taylor Swift’s concert film, “The Eras,” has stormed the box office, raking in an estimated $95 to $97 million during its opening weekend. 

This makes it one of the biggest domestic openings of 2023, surpassing Justin Bieber’s “Never Say Never.” Directed by Sam Wrench, the film chronicles Swift’s 2023-2024 world tour, offering fans an immersive experience.

Notably, “The Eras” also earned approximately $32 million in international sales, claiming the top spot in various countries. Its success has been a cultural and economic phenomenon, boosting local economies and even causing seismic activity in Seattle due to enthusiastic fans.

The film’s release was highly anticipated, showing in 3,855 theatres across the US and Canada. AMC reported over $100 million in advance ticket sales, breaking records in the company’s century-long history. Swift, a 12-time Grammy winner, announced the film’s release on Instagram in late August.

Running for nearly three hours, the film was shot over three nights at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. With its remarkable success, “The Eras” cements Swift’s status as a powerhouse in both the music and film industries.

Celebrating 30 years of exceptional care and unwavering commitment to the well-being of the elderly and individuals with complex needs, CareMalta Group unveiled a remarkable art exhibition, “The Way of Beauty,” by the renowned artist Antonio Mifsud.

This event took place at the stunning backdrop of the Archbishop’s Palace in Valletta, Malta.

In a unique partnership with ZVART, an initiative by the Vassallo Group aimed at promoting art across various facilities, CareMalta Group transformed the historic Archbishop’s Palace into a sanctuary for the senses.

Antonio Mifsud’s masterpieces, 14 in total, were dedicated to the 14 CareMalta and HILA facilities and homes. These paintings bore witness to the deep connection between the caregivers, residents, clients, and the remarkable artistry of Mifsud.

Double Murder Shocks Marsa Community as Police Launch Investigation

In a shocking turn of events, the town of Marsa has been gripped by a devastating double murder that occurred around 9:30am.

The victims, Maltese, identified as a man of 73 years and his partner of 56 years, met a tragic fate in the man’s garage located in the Triq it-Tiġrija area of Marsa. Two other people were also involved and injured in the argument.

The male victim, from Gudja, was a well-known figure among horse enthusiasts in the community. The exact circumstances surrounding the double murder are currently under investigation by the authorities.

As the investigation unfolds, the police have taken a person into custody in connection with this gruesome incident. The police also have the alleged murder weapon used.

The scene of the crime was flooded with a substantial police presence, including the specialised crime investigation unit.

In response to the incident, a number of ambulances arrived on-site to provide immediate assistance, while friends and family of the victims gathered, deeply shocked by the tragedy that has befallen their loved ones.

A medical team has been deployed to offer support and care to the grieving relatives during this difficult time.

A Magisterial Inquiry is being led by Kevin Azzopardi.

The event, held at the square in front of the Church, aimed to protest against the indiscriminate bombardment and unlawful siege of civilians in the Gaza Strip, where 2.2 million inhabitants are trapped in an open-air prison.

The demonstration, which saw a substantial turnout of concerned individuals from diverse backgrounds, came in response to the dire situation unfolding in the Gaza Strip.

Participants gathered to voice their condemnation of the ongoing violence and call on the international community to break its silence in the face of this humanitarian crisis.
