There are marketing tactics… and then there are marketing tactics and a local pizzeria has embraced the recent distribution of tax refund cheques with a cheeky ad promoting their latest offer.

Coronations, based in Xagħra Gozo, posted a photo of the tax refund cheques captioned ‘Tax Refund? More like FREE PIZZA’, going on to promote their limited time offer of a free pizza with an order of two other pies, available from Monday to Thursday.

Unfortunately, a recent post on their Facebook page suggests that the 2+1 offer is no longer available, so we’ll just have to wait for the next cheeky ad from this Gozitan restaurant.

Bernard Grech challenges Abela to publish Żejtun villa report to see who is ‘serial tax evader’

Bernard Grech challenges Abela to publish Żejtun villa report to see who is 'serial tax evader'
Mar 20 2022 Share

During today’s Nationalist Party rally in Dingli Street, Sliema, Bernard Grech challenged Prime Minister and Labour Party leader Robert Abela to publish a report on his Żejtun villa, which he lent to Russian passport hopefuls.

Times of Malta had revealed that Abela had rented out the villa to two Russian passport hopefuls, who must abide by by ‘strict residency requirements’ as proof of a genuine link with Malta. The report also highlighted that ‘thousands of euros’ were made from the villa rental, which is also built in an ODZ.

In relation to recent revelations of questionable negotiations with Christian Borg and the rental of the Żejtun villa, Grech went on to appeal to the Labour Party leader to “stop thinking of himself and for once, think of others.” The PN leader stated that a vote for the Nationalist Party is not a vote to give power to himself or the PN, but to not allow others to do what they wish with the country.

“Chris Fearne is a liar”, Bernard Grech addresses PN supporters at Sliema rally

"Chris Fearne is a liar", Bernard Grech addresses PN supporters at Sliema rally
Mar 20 2022 Share

During the Nationalist Party rally held in Dingli Street, Sliema, PN leader Bernard Grech addressed party supporters ahead of the March 26 election.

Grech stated how the Nationalist Party remained positive, proactive and focused on the change that is needed, highlighting that not more than 3 days after the electoral campaign, the PN came out with a clear vision which has been built and discussed with experts for years. Grech highlighted that the party’s vision remains one of solutions, while ‘others’ waited three weeks to ‘copy’ the PN’s manifest, stating that the difference between the two parties is that the people know where they stand with the Nationalist Party.

He pledged that if elected, the Nationalist Party will ensure more work and better pay, highlighting that the PN has a plan for Malta leading up to 2030, while the Labour Party ‘operates on a day to day basis’.

Outlining a recently scheduled debate between both leaders, Bernard Grech reiterated how Deputy Leader Chris Fearne showed up to the debate stating that Abela was ‘preoccupied’. Grech went on to state how he later found out that rather than being abroad or preoccupied, he was walking somewhere in Malta, stating that the Deputy Prime Minister is ‘also a liar’.

Abela asks whether people ‘are ready to trust someone who is not capable of leading own party’

Robert Abela asks whether people 'are ready to trust someone who is not capable of leading their own party'
Mar 20 2022 Share

Addressing a roaring crowd at the Labour Party’s ‘Together in Concert’ event at the MFCC in Ta’ Qali, Prime Minister and Labour Party leader Robert Abela took to the stage to ask for the people’s trust, the same trust that he was given two years ago from Labour Party members.

During his speech, Abela highlighted that he immediately understood the importance of uniting as a nation, going on to ask whether the people want a prime minister who, in the face of a challenge such as the COVID-19 pandemic, spent countless sleepless nights debating and worrying about the countries future.

The Labour Party leader stated that Malta is ‘one family, a European family’ and that while everyone has their own thoughts and interests, the country has always come together when it need most. He argued that the Nationalist Party shows that its only interest is being in power and not peace of mind for workers and businesses, asking the people whether they are ready to trust someone who is not capable of leading his own party.

Abela stated that Labour wants to be there for the people, not the other way round, which is why the party is focused on guaranteeing a positive future for children. He went on to to ask the people not to put their future in the hands of a survey, but to go out and vote for a 1000-proposal manifesto, with the only condition being that it requires the people to vote.
