Tattoo artist Maxine Gauci, better known as Bizzart, has gone viral with her latest cheeky creation and it’s pure Maltese mischief.

Taking to TikTok, Maxine showed off a fresh tattoo featuring an original illustration by none other than local artist Stache Studios. The artwork? A hilarious take on the Maltese saying “Ż*bb ġo bott”, a phrase often used to playfully describe someone who’s on the shorter side.

@bizzart00 Għal dawk in-Nies qosra 🤣🤣 (jien inkluża 🙈) Ġurnata t-tajba! The video quickly blew up, racking up thousands of views, likes, and comments, with users loving the bold, funny, and proudly Maltese ink.

In her caption, Maxine joked, “Għal dawk in-Nies qosra 🤣🤣 (jien inkluża 🙈)”, proving she’s not only got a steady hand but a solid sense of humour too.

Would you get this iconic phrase inked? Or do you know someone who definitely should? Either way, this one’s for all the short kings and queens out there.

Maltese, funny, and full of personality… just how we like our tattoos.

During last night’s episode, the pair were granted access to The Highway, the show’s exclusive private bedroom giving them some alone time away from the rest of the villa.

While the rest of the islanders dealt with their fair share of drama, Sean and Yennifer had a moment of their own.

It was there that Sean popped the question: “Will you be my girlfriend?”

Do you think Sean and Jennifer will work outside of the villa?

Millie Bobby Brown in Malta? Fans Spot Clues in Sunny Snap

Millie Bobby Brown in Malta? Fans Spot Clues in Sunny Snap

Millie Bobby Brown has sent fans in a frenzy after sharing a sizzling snap in a black and white striped dress and shades, soaking up the sun. But it wasn’t just her fashion that caught attention, eagle-eyed followers quickly clocked the distinctly Maltese rubble walls in the background.

Speculation exploded in the comments, with fans convinced the Stranger Things star is already in Malta filming the much-anticipated Enola Holmes 3.

Just last April, news broke that both Brown and Henry Cavill would be heading to the islands as production for the third film in the Netflix hit series gets underway.

This time, Enola swaps foggy Victorian London for sunny Malta and the mystery only deepens.

Brown returns as the sharp-witted sleuth, joined again by Cavill as Sherlock, with Louis Partridge, Helena Bonham Carter, Himesh Patel, and Sharon Duncan-Brewster also making a comeback. Directing the new instalment is Philip Barantini, the mind behind Netflix’s breakout Adolescence, taking over the reins from Harry Bradbeer.

The script comes from BAFTA-winner Jack Thorne, promising Enola’s most dangerous mission yet. Netflix teases “a case more tangled and treacherous than any she has faced before,” all set against Malta’s dramatic landscape.

The film, produced by Legendary Entertainment and Brown’s own PCMA Productions, lists Jake Bongiovi, Isobel Richards, and Michael Dreyer as executive producers.

With Enola Holmes 2 smashing global charts back in 2022, Malta now finds itself in the Netflix spotlight, a huge win for the Malta Film Commission and the island’s booming film industry.

New Scheme “Ixtri Proprjetà Sostenibbli” Launched

New Scheme “Ixtri Proprjetà Sostenibbli” Launched
Jun 4 2025 Share

A new government scheme titled Ixtri Proprjetà Sostenibbli (“Buy a Sustainable Property”) has been launched, offering grants of up to €9,000 spread over three years for buyers of energy-efficient homes.

The scheme is being led by the Building and Construction Authority and was announced by Justice and Construction Reform Minister Jonathan Attard, together with the Authority’s CEO, Perit Roderick Bonnici.

The scheme is open to all, including first-time and second-time buyers, and aims to support Malta’s Vision 2050 goals by encouraging sustainable housing.

Grants range from €4,500 to €9,000 depending on the energy performance of the property. Homes classified as Net Zero—those that generate more energy than they consume—are eligible for the maximum grant of €9,000 (€3,000 per year).

Properties that exceed EU energy standards by at least 20% will qualify for €4,500 (€1,500 per year).

To apply, buyers must submit a final sale contract and an Energy Performance Certificate based on the completed building.

Applications are officially open via bca.gov.mt, and the scheme remains active until 30 September 2025 or until allocated funds are exhausted.

The initiative forms part of broader government efforts to improve energy efficiency in Malta’s building stock.
