Swimming is now allowed again along the coast off Tower Road in Sliema, between the Sliema Waterpolo pitch and Qui-si-Sana, after health authorities lifted the temporary ban on Tuesday.
The Environmental Health Directorate said that recent tests showed the seawater is safe for swimming. The ban was first put in place last Wednesday after sewage was found leaking into the sea, raising health concerns.
However, several tests over the past few days showed that water quality has improved, so the area has been reopened to the public.
