Swimmer Injured After Jumping Into St Peter's Pool

A young man, whose identity is currently still undisclosed, has suffered injuries after jumping off a height at St Peter’s Pool. 

The incident was caught on film, with the footage making rounds on TikTok. The video shows the youth jumping into the water but not resurfacing, prompting other swimmers to dive to his aid.

It was later confirmed that police were on site to transport the youth to Mater Dei Hospital for further medical assistance. 

His condition is currently still unknown.

568.12kg Of Waste Picked Up By 106 Volunteers In St Paul's Bay

A whopping 568.12kg of waste was picked up by around 106 divers, free divers and coastal volunteers in Ta’ L-Għażżien Bay, St Paul’s Bay. 

The clean up, organised by NGO Zibel, and supported by Saving Our Blue Malta, ERA and the Ministry for the Environment, saw a large group of volunteers contributing to keeping Malta’s coastline cleaner.

They all managed to pick up 168.16kg of plastic, 54.74kg of ropes and fishing gear, and 5.50kg worth of glass. 112.56kg of metal and 228kg of mixed waste was also recovered, amounting to the total of 568.12kg of waste. 

‘What a turnout! The clean-up at this location is always one of our favourites, we get to meet a lot of our volunteers who live in the area as well as the great guys at Simenta Malta for hosting us on the day’, explained the NGO.

Malta’s own cycling activist, Steve Zammit Lupi, has accomplished his mission, cycling from Malta all the way to Stockholm, Sweden, in 41 days.

It took Zammit Lupi a total of 36 riding days with just 5 rest days. The journey saw Zammit Lupi cycle through Italy, Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Denmark, and Sweden, with hundreds of his friends and followers cheering him on from the island.

Zammit Lupi cycled a total of 4,400 km, with the longest ride being 211 km and the shortest ride being 42 km, averaging a daily ride of 120 km.
