Mar 29 2021 Share

As the week filled to the brim with holidays pertaining to Freedom Day, Good Friday and Easter, the weather forecast over Malta seems to be sunny and partly cloudy. With many having several off days, the weather will seemingly accompany these coming days away from work.

Of course, given the current pandemic, it is important to remember that observing the Public Health measures and regulations is still crucial. Temperatures are to start at around 19⁰C and 22⁰C, dropping between 11⁰C and 15⁰C in the evening.

Cargo ship blocking Suez Canal freed

Cargo ship blocking Suez Canal freed
Mar 29 2021 Share

The Ever Given cargo ship which has blocked the Suez Canal for over a week has finally been dislodged. Running aground, the ship caused many other vessels to have to wait as attempts at freeing the ship were carried out, essentially postponing many important cargo deliveries. Diggers were called to remove approximately 27,000 cubic meters of sand, digging deep into the canal to get the ship afloat.

Despite it not being clear whether the Canal could operate as normal or whether all the other ships lying in wait can proceed with their voyage, the crux of the work is done stated Maritime services provider Inchcape. The canal allows for 12% of the world’s trade to flow, and many other ships have decided to go around the southern top of Africa.
