Summer is officially here and with it, a long list of seasonal parties which serve as the canvas for unforgettable memories for years to come. Amongst them, summer’s hottest and most fashionable event; The FashionTV White Party at Café del Mar.

The event, helmed by international fashion and lifestyle channel FashionTV and hosted by G7 Events in collaboration with Life Events, is synonymous with summer and open air clubbing; a perfect start to party season.

The Café del Mar rendez-vous dons a super line-up of entertainers including Debrii, D-Rey, Joseph Stayl, Koroma, Miggy, Tony Renda, violinist Maria Cini and saxophonist Mr. Fabris and will take place on June 28, an eve of a public holiday.

New Truffle Pastizzi sell out on the day of launch and people want more!

In a testament of their power, the newly launched scrumptious Truffle Pastizzi ended up sold out on the second day from when they were launched.

The interesting, and delicious, spin on the traditional Maltese snack was met with much craving and approval by the overall Maltese community as everyone made sure to get a bite.

Sphinx Pastizzeria announced the limited special edition as yet another creative brain-child of the brand, after introducing the likes of figolla-filled cheesecakes and the lampuki pastizzi.

And it does seem as though their experimentations are working as people are looking forward for another batch of the truffle pastizzi as soon as they are available.

New Ryanair maintenance facility to open in Malta

Ryanair will start servicing some of its aircraft in Malta at a newly inaugurated €20 million maintenance and overhaul facility close to the Malta airport.

With the announcement made during a press conference at Castille, Ryanair’s CEO Eddie Wilson said that operations will start in October. It will operate with one maintenance bay employing 20 people, but will eventually grow to around 250 employees.

Phase 1 will see the airline operating from an existing hangar before growing into a new three-bay hangar. Ryanair has a subsidiary airline in Malta and operates to 62 destinations from the island.

With over 500 aircraft under Ryanair, the CEO thanked Malta Enterprise for facilitating the investment. He said working in Malta was as easy as working in Ireland, where the airline is based.

Prime Minister Robert Abela, Economy Minister Silvio Schembri and Industry Minister Miriam Dalli all welcomed the investment.

Man arrested for stealing from religious sites in Siggiewi and Zebbug

Police from the Major Crimes Unit, accompanied by Hal Qormi district police, arrested a 38-year-old man resident of Haz-Zebbug for three thefts from religious sites in Siggiewi and Haz-Zebbug.

Investigations revealed that the man broke into sanctuaries and chapels to steal various items and cash as well as a donation box from beneath a statue.

Investigations led the police to identify the man and arrest him yesterday morning in Haz-Zebbug. The man was arraigned in court today at around 1100hrs.
