After the studies for the conservation for San Anton Garden were completed, Project Green submitted the application to being the necessary works for the regeneration of the garden to the Planning Authority.
Due to the nature of the site and its historical value, San Anton Garden is set to receive the highest level of protection.
The first phase of the project incorporated the study of the site, having been measured metre by metre, with the methodology to be used to approach the walls, passageways and the fountain and monument architecture being identified.
Together with the garden’s conservation, a new conservatory will be replacing the greenhouse, with other works including the manufacturing of new cages.
The studies were a requirement by the Superintendence of Cultural Heritage, and led to discussions with the Planning Authority to launch the project.
The site requires a process of extensive tendering, so that when the permits are approved, Project Green can issue the call for offers immediately. Ambjent Malta are working closely with Project Green to maintain the nature of the garden.
