Stranger Things actor Noah Schnapp has officially confirmed the existence of chemistry which fans of the series have been speculating since the launch of season 4.

While romance is commonplace in almost every television serious, Schnapp’s Stranger Things character Will Byers has remained relatively solo since the beginning of the series, with many suggesting that Will could in fact be gay; and Schnapp has finally confirmed it.

“It’s pretty clear this season that Will has feelings for Mike,” Schnapp told Variety before going to reveal that the show-runners have slowly been hinting at that storyline. The actor highlighted that Will always felt the insecurity of whether he will be accepted or not for his feelings towards his best friend, with the character’s sexuality being ‘up to the audience’s interpretation’.

Schnapp revealed that many approached him to offer praise and thanks for the storyline, admitted that they could relate and it helped them validate real life issues.

Abner Aquilina admits to killing and raping Paulina Dembska; “I only carried out 33% of the plan.”

Jul 15 2022 Share

In this morning’s compilation of evidence against 20-year-old Abner Aquilina, who is accused of raping and killing 29-year-old Paulina Dembska in Sliema, admitted to his heinous crimes six months ago.

The case remains ongoing, but Aquilina revealed that his plan was to kill 3 people and ended up chasing 2 men before approaching Dembska. In a conversation with Aquilina, which was recorded on Police body camera, he stated that “It was a one-time thing. [He] only carried out 33 per cent of the plan.”

This is also the first time Paulina’s family are present in the court proceedings.

Back in June, court experts determined that the accused is not mentally stable to be examined by a jury on the claims made against him, with three psychiatrists declaring that Aquilina was probably in a state of insanity when committing the major crimes.

The psychiatrists stated that the accused faced delusions and emotions expressed in his behaviour, based on what was stated by Aquilina himself on 2nd January.

More on this story as it develops.

Bernard Grech calls PBS “Robert Abela’s TV station”; appeals for monitoring from Broadcasting Authority

Jul 15 2022 Share

Leader of the Opposition Bernard Grech has called PBS “Robert Abela’s TV station”  after a court ruled the Nationalist Party’s rights were breached by the national broadcaster.  The court hearing was about whether the PBS was acting truly neutral in broadcasting time between the two major parties.

After the hearing which resulted in the judge fining PBS and the Broadcasting Authority for breaching the PN’s rights, Grech told reporters “The Nationalist Party expects the Prime Minister to let go of his control on PBS,” . He continued on by saying “We expect journalists at PBS to do their job without political interference… we cannot have a Robert Abela TV station.”

One of the highlights of the case was when the judge criticized the political mentality where “winner takes all “. Bernard Grech went on to say “The BA is there to ensure balance is maintained and yet, despite PBS repeatedly breaching the PN’s rights, the authority is not taking action and only intervenes when it is too late and only after it receives a formal complaint,”

The Opposition leader said that the judgement highlighted the lack of equal coverage between the two parties which resulted in a disadvantage the PN faced in getting its message out to the people. He also stated that the Broadcasting Authorities budget must increase in order to ensure proper media monitoring.
