According to the forecasts for this upcoming weekend, we might be in for a bit of a mix of weather patterns.

Friday is expected to be quite windy with isolated rain showers, with temperatures climbing to 28 degrees Celsius.

Saturday is expected to bring in quite strong winds, with temperatures dropping to 25 degrees Celsius. Sunday is set to be quite sunny, with temperatures measured at 26 degrees Celsius.

However, this comes as the Malta Red Cross issues warnings for whoever goes to the beach to be careful for strong winds as lives could be put at risk.

This is set to come ahead of another week with some rain, starting Tuesday. So maybe beach, maybe not!

The largest grape producing locality in Malta, with more than 500,000 square meters of vineyards, is once again organizing a highly anticipated event celebrating the production of this fruit and its derived products.

Over the years, the various vineyards and produced grapes coming out of the locality of Siġġiewi have shaped a new cultural tradition for the Maltese town.

Those present will be able to taste locally produced grapes, as well as a variety of food and drink products made from this fruit.

Siġġiewi will also celebrate the grape named after a rural area in the same village, the Girgentina, with a drink prepared for the first time at Festa Għeneb: Girgentina Spritz.

The homemade wine competition will also return at Festa Għeneb in Siġġiewi, an event that sparks the interest of producers from both Siġġiewi and all over Malta.

Those interested in participating in the wine competition can register at the Siġġiewi Civic Center on the 11th and 12th of September 2024 between 5 pm and 7 pm.

The Festa Għeneb in Siġġiewi will be an evening of Maltese tradition, where one can find traditional Maltese food, Maltese wine, an exhibition of over 15 varieties of locally produced grapes, agricultural tools, a children’s area, and a show featuring singing and dancing, among other activities.

The event will take place next Saturday, September 14th, 2024, from 6 pm onwards in St. Nicholas Square, Siġġiewi. It is organized by the Siġġiewi Local Council with the support of the Parliamentary Secretariat for Local Government and the Western Region.

President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, former President Donald Trump, and Senator JD Vance were in New York on Wednesday to commemorate the 23rd anniversary of the September 11 attacks.

Trump and Harris, just a few hours after their first meeting at the presidential debate on Tuesday night, shook hands when Harris turned toward the former president and both extended a hand. No interaction between Vance and Harris was observed.

Harris and Biden then travelled to Shanksville, Pennsylvania, to participate in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Flight 93 memorial. During the ceremony, Biden rested his hand on the wreath as the small group accompanying him bowed their heads. The president and vice president also visited a local volunteer fire station in Shanksville, which had been a key gathering point for families in 2001.
