Michela Pace, Ivan Grech, Klinsmann and SKALD are all set to perform this weekend for another edition of Mużika Mużew, this time in new heritage and cultural sites in Malta.

With free entry, the established local artists will bring their talent to the Maltese National Archives on the 21st of April from 9am onwards.

The day will not only feature music but also glimpses into Malta’s past through the National Archive’s many historical materials.

This will follow a day of culture at Borġ in-Nadur and Għar Dalam on the 20th of April, as the public is invited to visit these sites that will transport you back in time!

Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament, was honored with an Honoris Causa Doctorate by the University of Lisbon in Portugal for her significant contributions to International Relations.

The award aims to link democracy and the European project while encouraging young people to engage in European elections to protect their rights as citizens. Professor Carla Margarida Barroso Guapo da Costa, who nominated Metsola, highlighted her role in advancing the European project, particularly as a representative from a smaller EU country.

Metsola’s dedication to gender equality was also recognized, aligning with the values of previous female Presidents of the European Parliament. Professor Guapo da Costa emphasized Metsola’s commitment to defending democracy, individual freedoms, and the rule of law throughout her career.

Upon receiving the award, Metsola expressed a sense of responsibility to uphold European values amidst growing threats. She stressed the importance of collective action and urged individuals to take charge and advocate for change, emphasizing the enduring belief in Europe’s potential to positively impact lives.

Metsola’s acceptance speech emphasized the need for proactive engagement in shaping Europe’s future, calling for unity and active participation to safeguard shared values. She encouraged individuals to stand up, voice their opinions, and contribute to positive change rather than waiting for others to act. Her message highlighted a deep commitment to European unity and progress.

Referred to affectionately as pixxiluna, qamar, or pixxitanbur in its native Maltese, this magnificent creature, scientifically classified as Mola mola, holds a special place in the annals of marine biology.

Renowned as the heavyweight champion of bony fish, the Ocean Sunfish has earned its rightful spot in the Guinness Book of Records. With an unparalleled ability to produce a vast number of eggs, it stands as a testament to the extraordinary fecundity found within the ocean’s depths.

A video shared to TikTok  by user sherm.1423 shows a man yelling at the Tallinja driver, demanding that he open the door.

Hurling racial insults and offensive language, the passenger called the driver names like “filthy Indian animal”, “ugly”, “clown”, “rubbish”, and “bastard”, before physically attacking him.

Despite the driver’s attempt to call the police and warning that he would wait for their arrival before opening the door, the passenger’s aggression escalated. The passenger even threatened to beat the driver, stating that he refrained only to avoid going to prison.

Malta Public Transport swiftly condemned the assault, confirming it occurred around 11am on Route 81 to Valletta. Police reportedly arrived on the scene to address the situation.
