Smart contact lenses to launch in 2030

Mar 9 2021 Share

Apple may be working on creating contact lenses which would offer a literal alternative view of the world. Even though it sounds like something straight out of a sci-fi movie, Apple has taken it upon themselves to create the lenses. The purpose of the contact lenses will however not be designed to improve eyesight. Their function will instead be ‘invisible computing.’

This means the lenses would offer an overlay of digital information onto the real world – people would be able to visit online websites and check information through these contact lenses. MacRumours obtained new research notes by Apple that outlined the upcoming plans. The technology is being anticipated for release in 2030 and will probably have to be linked to iPhones for power and storage.

Higher secondary student protest cancelled as lectures move online

Mar 9 2021 Share

After students from Giovanni Curmi Higher Secondary School (GCHSS) were set to protest on Friday by not attending classes, a letter issued by the Head of School confirmed that the school will in fact be shifting to online classes until the end of the 2nd term (Tuesday 30th March 2021). The students promptly cancelled the protest as GCHSS now joins the ranks of schools like Junior College in resorting to online lessons.

This decision came after students even took to social media to express their concerns that GCHSS was not making the necessary shift to online lessons due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The previous measures issued by the school were banning sports activities and enforcing mask wearing at all times.
