The certificate aims to regulate work related to activities associated with the profession of conservators and restorers, as stipulated by the Cultural Heritage Act, Chapter 445.

Minister Bonnici explained that through this Heritage Skills Certificate, granted by the Restorers’ Warrant Board, the abilities of these professionals are being recognized.

While addressing the conservators and restorers in the presence of the Restorers-Conservators Warrant Board, Minister Bonnici emphasized that since conservation and restoration work on culturally valuable objects must be carried out using the best methods, materials, care, and ethics, the Cultural Heritage Act requires that in order to perform this type of work, one must have a Warrant or a Heritage Skills Certificate issued according to the provisions of the Cultural Heritage Act.

Minister Bonnici concluded by thanking all those who have contributed over time, particularly the Chairperson of the Board, Dr. Joseph Buttigieg, and the rest of the Board, who were instrumental in recognizing these professionals by awarding them the Heritage Skills Certificate.
