The Nationalist Party has not disclosed the wage packet offered to Lovin Malta founder and former CEO Christian Peregin. Peregin has been employed as chief strategist for the Opposition, with his shareholding of Lovin Malta currently in the process of being shed. A PN spokesperson, when asked about what wage Peregin will be receiving and whether or not it will be financed by the party or private donors, stated that this is of confidential nature. This has caused internal dismay among party members, who have had to endure cost cutting due to the party’s financial difficulties.
MaltaToday reported that PN media employees were concerned for their jobs when news hit that Peregin would be joining the party. This was spurred due to Peregin’s Lovin Malta campaign against political party media – a campaign that culminated in a still ongoing constitutional case. Opposition leader Bernard Grech had to, according to a spokesperson reporting to MaltaToday, meet party employees to curb any fears that might have arisen.
