Shocking Scene in Floriana as Car Overturns in Narrow Road

Members of the Malta Police Force together with a medical team were at Triq il-Kapuċċini in Floriana earlier today after a car overturned.

Two vehicles were involved in the accident. It is so far unreported whether or not there were any injuries.

A photo sent to Malta Daily shows a portion of the road closed off with police tape, as an ambulance, together with police and a medical team were on site to attend to the situation.

Record Breaking Number Of Tourists Visit Malta In August 2023

In the reviewed month, Malta welcomed 354,155 holidaymakers and 6,391 business visitors.

The majority of tourists fell in the 25-44 age range (37.2%), closely followed by the 0-24 bracket (37.0%). Italians, Britons, and French residents constituted 53.2% of the total visitors.

Accommodation establishments saw 83.1% of the total guest nights, out of over 2.9 million. On average, tourists stayed for 7.8 nights.

Expenditure soared to over €393.4 million, a 22.4% rise from the previous year. Each night’s average expenditure was €135.6. From January to August 2023, inbound tourists reached 1,986,260, a 33.5% surge.

The total nights spent shot up by 25.0%, nearly hitting 13.6 million nights. Tourist expenditure totaled around €1.8 billion, marking a 36.2% increase from 2022. Per capita expenditure rose to €888 from €871 in the previous year.

The milestone was highlighted by Tourism Minister Clayton Bartolo, who took to social media to highlight how, in 2019’s August, 336,547 tourists visited the island. This is an increase of 10.4%.

Turning twenty is quite the milestone, so Italian brand Tezenis, a Calzedonia Group Brand, set out on a mission to mark this remarkable anniversary with a show-stopping event that would be memorable, the world over.

Its chosen location? Ibiza! Think beaches, clear waters, artisanal markets, and a vibrant international party scene was the perfect place to keep the energy of summer alive. Mirroring the brand’s cool, innovative soul, Ibiza is a place that represents music, freedom, and fun. As much fun in 2003, as it is now! Hosting the private evening event extended to approximately 2,000 exclusive guests that have in some way contributed to this important anniversary was one of the world’s most famous clubs: Destino Pacha.

Malta was represented by its very own Tezenis ambassadors: content-creator Sarah Zerafa and singer/songwriter Gaia Cauchi. Guests mingled amidst sounds that nourished the body and mind, with music being a central theme celebrating the brand’s manifesto: Music For The Body.

Performances included award-winning DJs and producers Robin Schulz and Purple Disco Machine with lights, SFX and music created especially for the occasion. Tezenis sure made its mark last night, bringing back the excitement of being twenty, for just one last evening!

The celebrations began at one of the most magical moments: sunset. With the atmospheric sound of gongs, the island’s symbolic ritual, the night kicked off, with live performances channelling the brand’s energy and freedom of movement. As the Ibizan night kicked in, the dream was interrupted by the arrival of the light show that lit up the club’s main stage, where a story made of music, choreography and fashion began: showcasing Tezenis’ iconic garments, the fashion show collections and the chapters of a story of tradition and attitude.

The show helped strengthen an already essential link between Tezenis and music. In particular, music from emerging young artists, which the brand continues to support as an inexhaustible source of inspiration and universal language. The party, which celebrated an important milestone, thus became an opportunity for the brand to celebrate together with all those who have been part of its history, remembering its origins, the progress made thanks to the people who have worked with it and the journey still to come, always – strictly – characterised by music.
