Sexual content will NOT be banned by OnlyFans

Sexual content will not be banned by OnlyFans
Aug 25 2021 Share

The tides have turned as OnlyFans decided to suspend its planned pornography ban following immense criticism. Only nudity was going to remain allowed on the subscriber-based platform as of October 1st, with any other sexually explicit content being destined for outright banning. However, with sex workers, who relied on it for steady income, sounding their concerns, the company announced its U-turn decision. A Twitter statement revealed how, thanks to everyone making their voices heard, the necessary assurances to support ‘diverse creator community’ have been secured.

The suspension is currently in the air as to whether it will be permanent or whether it will be reintroduced at a later date. Founder Tim Stokely said that the short answer for the ban was made to safeguard funds and subscriptions from increasingly unfair actions by banks and media companies. This suspension was still met with criticism however, as many pointed out that the decision to disregard sex workers initially shouldn’t warrant people returning to the platform.

WATCH: Energy Minister announces new tariffs for charging electric cars

Energy Minister announces new tariffs for charging electric cars
Aug 25 2021 Share

Energy Minister Miriam Dalli announced new tariffs for large electric cars to be charged from private garages or home, as well as charging pillars for carparks and/or street parking spaces. This came with the launch of the National Policy on the Infrastructure of charing pillars in our country as it aims to have cleaner transport on our islands. Split into two categories, one for residential buildings and others for public spaces, the tariffs will allow electric car owners to apply to have a special electric meter installed costing €50 for single phase and €80 for a person who applies for three phases.

The tariff applies to off-peak hours, between noon and 4pm at midnight, 6am everyday and a whole day on Sunday. Dalli said that Malta is regularising this market before it starts to even develop. This clear framework will catch the eye of investors to show where the country is heading. She also pointed out how out of 168 weekly hours, drivers are offered 84, which is much more than a driver needs to charge his battery cheaply.

The Danish and UEFA medics were highly praised for their immediate reaction in going to help Christian when he collapsed. The medics did an outstanding job in not only reacting quickly but doing everything in their power to keep Christian alive. Denmark captain, Simon Kjær, was also praised for the way he handled the situation. Even though one of his closest friends was in danger of dying, he still managed to regroup his team and take care of Christian’s wife and family.

Eriksen had this to say after the winners were announced, “I would like to thank Morten [Skjoldager], Morten [Boesen] and the medical team who helped in Parken on 12 June. You did a fantastic job and saved my life. “Also, a big thanks to my friend and captain Simon and my teammates in the Danish team for your support, both on 12 June and afterwards. Thanks to all the fans who have sent messages to me and my family. It means a lot and has given us strength and support. Thank you.”

Compared to 2021’s first quarter, the amount of people staying in hotels and similar establishments increased by around 60,000 between April and June. Statistics released by the National Statistics Office (NSO) show how the number of people who stayed in hotels in the second quarter of this year reached up to 143,773. Compared to the same quarter of last year, the increase is more notable given that the pandemic hit in the first few months of 2020.

In between April and June of 2020, there were only 17,157 people staying in accommodation establishments. The number of nights between the second and first quarter of this year also increased by almost double of last year’s. A total of 305,114 nights were spent in hotels in between January and March of 2021, whilst a total of 596,740 nights were spent in between April and June. 2020 saw only 64,185 nights spent in these establishments in between April and June.
