A Police Sergeant who has had 18 years of experience on the job has been placed in police custody after pleading not guilty to sexually assaulting a woman who phoned the police after being burgled. Prosecution details the events, saying that on the 16th of April late at night, 40-year-old police sergeant Glen Carabot who was stationed at Qawra received a report of a burglary.
It is there that the police man sexually assaulted the woman, with no report about the burglary being made and no investigation for the stolen items initiated. Video footage of the rape has also been found on the accused’s phone. The accused’s lawyer there is no fear of tampering with evidence as the victim’s evidence is preserved. Magistrate Gabriella Vella denied the requested bail as the case continues.
