SEM Awarded National Supporting Business Award

Servizz Ewropej f’Malta (SEM) has been awarded the prestigious National Supporting Business Award in recognition of its significant contribution to improving the business environment and fostering an entrepreneurial spirit in Malta. The award acknowledges SEM’s continued efforts in helping numerous enterprises access EU funding, supporting their growth and innovation.

Following this national recognition, SEM will go on to represent Malta at the European Enterprise Promotion Awards 2025, taking place later this year in Copenhagen, Denmark. The European competition celebrates initiatives that encourage enterprise and support small businesses across the EU.

In a gesture of solidarity, SEM has also announced that the monetary prize accompanying the award will be donated to the Puttinu Cares Foundation, a respected Maltese charity that provides support to children and families affected by cancer.

Sergeant Matthew Parnis has been recognised by the Malta Records for his exceptional achievement as the first Maltese and only individual outside the United States to receive the Gung Ho Award from the United States Marine Corps.

‘The award was presented during the Sergeants Course held at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, where Sergeant Parnis was selected as the most motivated soldier.’

Malta’s Eurovision 2025 representative Miriana Conte has officially released her new song ‘Għajjejt (i8)’.

The title is a play on the Maltese word ‘għajjejt’ (I’m tired) and how it’s pronounced, which sounds like ‘I ate’.

Following her representation of Malta in Basel with her song ‘SERVING’, which was changed from ‘KANT’, Miriana is officially back and is building on extreme hype around her.

And the ending? Well, she makes sure to use the word KANT as much as she could due to no longer being censored.

Successful ‘A Night at the Palace’ Concert Supports Special Olympics Malta

The fourth edition of the concert A Night at the Palace was held on Thursday evening at the historic Girgenti Palace, featuring a performance by the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra.

The event aimed to raise funds for the ‘Strong Minds’ programme by Special Olympics Malta.

‘Strong Minds’ focuses on helping athletes develop essential life skills and build resilience to face everyday challenges.

With the donations collected during the concert, the programme will continue to expand its services, including early mental health screenings and professional referrals for athletes in need of further support.

Prime Minister Robert Abela, accompanied by Dr Lydia Abela and their daughter Giorgia Mae, attended the event and met with families present.

They expressed gratitude for the public’s generosity, emphasising the importance of supporting initiatives that promote athletes’ wellbeing.

Under the direction of Maestro Aurelio Belli, the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra delivered a powerful musical experience alongside vocalists Amber, Richard Edwards, and Gloriana Arpa Belli.

The evening’s programme included iconic pieces from beloved films and musicals, creating a memorable night of music for a worthy cause.

The concert successfully combined cultural celebration with a strong message of community support and mental health awareness.
