Second round of government vouchers confirmed

Following earlier reports of a second round of government vouchers, Minister Scicluna has confirmed that another €100 of vouchers will be issued.

€60 of the vouchers will be redeemable from hotels, restaurants and accommodation services whilst €40 will be redeemable on retail goods and services.

Elon Musk’s Tesla Model Y Seven seater is coming this year!

Elon Musk has confirmed that a Tesla Model Y seven-seater is coming, introducing the spacious SUV to a third row of practical seats.

An account on Twitter asked “Any updates on the Model Y seven-seater,” with Musk replying, “Starting production on seven-seater next month, initial deliveries early December.” At the moment, the only available Tesla model has a 5 seat limit, however it comes with the additional option to have two rear seats in the trunk.

Workers to be granted additional day of leave

The Government will be compensating workers for public holidays that fall on a weekend.

Thus, during 2021, workers will be granted an additional day of leave.

Increase in compensation of living and stipends

One of the first measures to have been announced in today’s budget is the increase in compensation for the cost of living.

The increase in compensation will be of €1.75 and is calculated according to a formula established by the Malta Council for Economic and Social Development (MCESD).

This increase will be given to all workers, pensioners and those with social benefits. Student stipends will be increased on a pro-rata basis.
