The Times of Malta have reported that calls for a second quarantine hotel have been made by the Malta Tourism Authority as the Corinthia Marina in St. Julian’s nears full capacity.
As the 200-room Corinthia Marina approaches full capacity with 287 guests, the call for another quarantine hotel was issued on Wednesday and will reportedly close on Friday ahead of processing of public procurement rules, with the hotel to be chosen next week.
The Malta Tourism Authority issued an announcement earlier this week that unvaccinated arrivals will be charged at least €1,400 per room for their two-week quarantine and will apply to anyone who arrives without an approved vaccine certificate.
