Early this morning, at around 3am, Police were informed that a shop in Triq Manuel Dimech, Qormi, was robbed.
From early investigations, Police found out that a man armed with a knife entered the shop and asked the cashier to hand over money.
The alleged thief fled the scene with an amount of cash.
The cashier did not suffer any injuries.
Police Magistrate Leonard Caruana was informed of the case and appointed an inquiry while the investigations are still ongoing.

At around 2am, Police were informed that a store in Constitution Road, Mosta, had caught fire.
The Civil Protection Department and Enemalta officials arrived at the scene, and helped evacuate residents of the same building whilst ensuring that the danger was controlled in a timely manner.
At the time of the incident the shop was closed and no one got hurt.
Police investigations to establish the cause of the fire are still ongoing.

International football teams are known for their work within the community and during their week in Malta, Manchester United Women visited children who are currently hospitalised in Mater Dei.
In a social media post, Rudi Camilleri, explained that a number of Manchester United players, were shown around the hospital where they met front-liners and patients currently receiving care at Mater Dei.
The football players, some of which are European champions, also distributed gifts to the children.
During their time in Malta, Manchester United Women, trained at MFA Training Centre in Ta’ Qali, played a friendly match against Birkirkara, and also visited places such as Valletta, Comino, and St. Julians, as part of the signed agreement between VisitMalta and the football club.

20-year-old Romeo Beckham, son of former England National Team captain David Beckham, has joined Brentford FC B team on loan from Inter Miami II until the end of the season.
Inter Miami II, the second team at the club which is co-owned by Football superstar, David Beckham, finished sixth in the Eastern Conference last season, with Romeo Beckham contributing with two goals and 10 assists.
Although Romeo Beckham has been training with Brentford for the past few weeks, his move is still subject to international clearance.
