During the ‘Il-Kamp Politiku,’ a weekend retreat for Labour Party MEP candidates, Sara Ezabe shared her insightful perspectives on building a more inclusive Malta. Her comments, made during a meal with PL candidates, offered a glimpse into her personal experiences and aspirations for the nation’s future.
Ezabe began by expressing her desire to see Malta become more inclusive. “I would like to see a Malta that is inclusive” she stated. Drawing from her personal experiences, Ezabe highlighted the natural process of different elements—such as foreigners and people of different religions—becoming part of the Maltese society. She noted the importance of thoughtful integration, stressing that while diversity is natural, it requires deliberate consideration to ensure it is beneficial and harmonious.
Ezabe’s vision goes beyond mere acceptance of diversity; she advocates for a proactive approach to integration. “Like everything, there must be a certain thought behind it,” she emphasised.
Reflecting on her personal journey, Ezabe shared how her actions are driven by a desire to contribute to a more inclusive Malta. “In the end, what I did and what I do is to contribute to Malta better as a Malta inclusive of religion,” she explained.
Ezabe also touched upon the importance of cultural engagement and understanding different traditions. She shared an anecdote about her Maltese mother from the capital city and how, despite not growing up in a household that celebrated village feasts, she has developed a love for these events.
Ezabe’s comments during ‘Il-Kamp Politiku’ reflect a comprehensive vision for an inclusive Malta.
