San Pawl Il-Baħar With Highest Number Of House Sales In March

A study released by the National Statistics Office revealed that in the month of March, the locality with the highest amounts of sale agreements promises and final deeds of sale was San Pawl Il-Baħar.

During March, a total of 1,110 properties were transacted through final deeds of sale. Apartments and garages made up the largest portions, with 408 apartments (36.8 per cent) and 239 garages (21.5 per cent) sold.

Aa total of 1,119 promise of sale agreements for residential properties were registered in March 2025, marking a 4.6 per cent decline compared to the same month in 2024.

Of these agreements, 1,014 (or 90.6 per cent) were entered into by individual potential buyers (households), while the remaining agreements primarily involved companies.

The highest number of residential promise of sale agreements was recorded in the Northern Harbour district, with 328 agreements, followed by the Northern district with 218.

In contrast, the lowest numbers were observed in the Western district and the Gozo and Comino district, with 107 and 123 agreements, respectively.

The highest numbers of promise of sale agreements were recorded in the following localities: San Pawl Il-Baħar (98), Il-Mosta (58) and Birkirkara (55).

New Collective Agreement For MCAST Educators Reached

The Malta Union of Teachers (MUT) has finalised negotiations with the Government regarding a new Collective Agreement for educators at MCAST.

Taking to social media, Prime Minister Robert Abela, Education Minister Clifton Grima, and MCAST all issued a statement acknowledgement this new agreement.

The agreement will soon be presented to MCAST staff, who will have the opportunity to review its terms and cast their vote in the coming days.

The MUT expressed its appreciation to the Ministry for Education, the Office of the Principal Permanent Secretary, the Industrial Relations Unit within the Office of the Prime Minister, and MCAST itself for their collaboration throughout the negotiation process.

The Prime Minister said that they were not always easy discussions, but he is proud that it is this government that will strengthen the conditions of more teachers and academics.

He also congratulated Minister Clifton Grima, who, on his part, thanked everyone involved in the delicate process.

3. Do Not Attempt Risky Rescues

If the animal is aggressive, scared, or in traffic, avoid putting yourself or the animal in further danger. Let trained professionals handle the situation.

4. Spread Awareness & Consider Adoption

In 2024 alone, Animal Welfare received 15,000 calls and rescued over 1,300 animals, yet only about 500 found new homes. If you can, consider adopting a rescued animal to give them a second chance.

President Visits Last Preparations For Rockestra 2025

President Myriam Spiteri Debono paid a visit to the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre in Ta’ Qali to observe the final preparations for this year’s much-anticipated edition of Rockestra.

Now in its 15th year, Rockestra has become a staple event, drawing thousands in support of the Malta Community Chest Fund. During her visit, the President met with performers, including singers, musicians, and artists, as they completed their last rehearsals before Saturday’s show.

This year’s edition, themed The Big Jam, promises a fresh experience. For the first time, it will feature a unique ‘jam session’ concept, blending the talents of the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra with local bands and vocalists in a dynamic, collaborative performance.

In her remarks, President Spiteri Debono thanked the artists for their dedication and encouraged the public to attend, highlighting that each ticket supports vital aid for individuals and families in need through the Malta Community Chest Fund.

Tickets for the show, scheduled for Saturday at 8:30 p.m., are available via ShowsHappening.

For the first time, Rockestra will also feature an Official After Party at Uno Malta, with local DJs keeping the energy going. Entry is free, though voluntary donations are welcomed in aid of the Fund.
