The duo Ryan and Josmar, who now form part of The Masked Singer Malta’s detective panel, alongside Valentina and Amber, took to social media to reflect on their experience during – and before – the very first episode.

‘It’s honestly hard to believe that on the morning of the show, Ryan was so sick with food poisoning that we had to rush him to hospital’, the duo revealed in a statement.

‘It hit him really hard, and I was sure he wouldn’t make it for the night.’

‘But thanks to the amazing Paul Vella and the incredible staff at St James Hospital, he pulled through.’

‘Huge thanks to everyone involved in making the show happen. What a night!’

The show sees the panel of judges, guided by host Alan Montanaro, trying to guess who the masked singer behind the elaborate costume truly is. The first, dressed up as Maduma, was Rodney Gauci, who had a bit of a tumble on stage during his rendition of ‘My Way’ by Frank Sinatra.

Issuing a statement on social media, Minister Byron Camilleri highlighted how much more serious the consequences would have been if Civil Protection Officers were in the Gżira apartment when the explosion took place.

This follows an explosion which took place in the locality, footage and photos of which circulated online later on in the evening.

‘This reminds us of the invaluable work they all do and that we should all take the necessary precautions’, said the Minister, urging for more awareness by the public to safeguard the officials’ safeties… and their own.
