Rosianne Cutajar On KSU Abortion Controversy
Oct 2 2024 Share

Taking to social media, MP Rosianne Cutajar shared Moviment Graffitti’s post which alleged that KSU removed their stand over material concerning reproductive rights.

‘100 years backwards’, wrote Cutajar.

In a separate post, Cutajar wrote that ‘we can disagree but let us discuss and respect everyone’s opinion.’

‘What is sure is that there is no place for censorship, let alone censorship in the highest educational institute in the country, the University of Malta.’

KSU had issued a response saying that  the event (Fresher’s Week) does not provide an adequate platform for this discussion (abortion) to take place with the gravitas it deserves.

‘KSU fully supports discussions on critical and contentious issues, but believes that these conversations must be approached with the time, space and depth they deserve.’

Moviment Graffitti however also stated that their stand also included material about planned parenthood, contraception and other material relating to reproductive health.

The team continued to pressure, with Lukas Wright missing several close opportunities before finally doubling the score just before halftime, thanks to a neat finish after a cross from Giorgio Cristauro.

Malta maintained their dominance in the second half, with Nicholas Busuttil adding a third goal from a free-kick in the 55th minute. Despite several substitutions, Malta’s control never waned, and they had additional chances to increase their lead.

Kenzil Vella missed a golden opportunity to make it 4-0, but Malta comfortably held on for the 3-0 victory. They now look forward to their next match against Estonia on October 3rd.
