Taking to social media, MP Rosianne Cutajar shared Moviment Graffitti’s post which alleged that KSU removed their stand over material concerning reproductive rights.
‘100 years backwards’, wrote Cutajar.
In a separate post, Cutajar wrote that ‘we can disagree but let us discuss and respect everyone’s opinion.’
‘What is sure is that there is no place for censorship, let alone censorship in the highest educational institute in the country, the University of Malta.’
KSU had issued a response saying that the event (Fresher’s Week) does not provide an adequate platform for this discussion (abortion) to take place with the gravitas it deserves.
‘KSU fully supports discussions on critical and contentious issues, but believes that these conversations must be approached with the time, space and depth they deserve.’
Moviment Graffitti however also stated that their stand also included material about planned parenthood, contraception and other material relating to reproductive health.
