In March 2023, private text messages between Labour MP Rosianne Cutajar and Yorgen Fenech were made public, sparking widespread media attention and controversy.

Addressing the situation of her publicised private text messages during an appearance on ONE TV’s show Nafek, Cutajar expressed her deep distress over the publication of these messages, framing it as a deliberate act of character assassination.

She emphasised that this was not simply an attack on her as a woman but, more broadly, an attack on her humanity. Cutajar stated that the release of these personal messages was intended to denigrate and humiliate her, aiming to destroy her reputation.

Describing the experience as deeply painful, she remarked that this kind of public exposure was part of a broader pattern of attempts to undermine her credibility and position.

DreamWorks Animation has created a wide array of films that have left a lasting impact on popular culture. Kung Fu Panda introduced audiences to the lovable Po and his journey from clumsy underdog to martial arts hero, while Madagascar followed the hilarious adventures of zoo animals lost in the wild. The studio also explored quirky, lesser-known concepts, like the inventive Flushed Away, which took animation underwater, and Megamind, a witty twist on the superhero genre. One of DreamWorks’ earliest successes, Antz, was a groundbreaking film for its use of computer animation, offering a clever take on life from the perspective of a worker ant.

As DreamWorks celebrates 30 years of creativity, it continues to inspire new generations of filmmakers and animation lovers, with exciting projects still on the horizon. This milestone marks a rich legacy of storytelling and innovation.

833 Illegal Immigrants Deported from Malta in the Last Four Years

Oct 13 2024 Share

Minister for Home Affairs, Security, and Employment, Byron Camilleri, revealed that 833 illegal immigrants were deported from Malta in the past four years.

Speaking on the program Vi jew Va on Radju Malta, Camilleri explained that these deportations occurred after it was found that these individuals were living in Malta illegally. He also noted that in the last two years alone, an additional 120 people were sent back to their home countries after serving prison sentences.

Camilleri emphasised the importance of focusing on returning illegal immigrants as part of a fair immigration system, stressing that this approach was supported by European Union ministers during recent discussions. The Minister further highlighted the European Commission’s pressure on countries like Ethiopia to accept the return of their nationals.

However, Shadow Minister for Home Affairs, Darren Carabott, criticised the government’s handling of Ethiopian immigrants whose refugee status claims were rejected, accusing the government of being overly strict.

Carabott argued that while the government was deporting these individuals, it had also allowed the population to grow by 100,000 over the last decade through the issuance of residence permits.
