Ronaldo ready to sign a 7 year contract with Al-Nassr and Saudi Arabia

Fresh reports from Spain claim that Cristiano Ronaldo is on the verge of signing a huge £175 million-per-year deal with Al-Nassr and Saudi Arabia.

The agreement is set to be valid for 7 years, with the football star set to play for two and a half years before taking up an ambassadorial role, with his payment increasing over time.

The Portuguese superstar has been searching for a new team after leaving Manchester United following an interview with Piers Morgan before the World Cup in Qatar.

Part of his ambassadorial role will be used to assist the candidacy of the Arab country together with Egypt and Greece for their 2030 World Cup bid.

Meanwhile, Al-Nassr are reportedly ready to cut three players to make financial space to sign in the veteran. This is not the first time the player was linked with the Saudi Arabian club before the World Cup, but he had refused to comment due to his focus on the tournament.

Ronaldo and his family are said to be waiting in Dubai until the deal, which even includes advertising agreements. Without any interest from Europe’s elite clubs, Ronaldo looks ready to move and take this offer.

Fan gets Emiliano Martinez golden glove celebration as tattoo

First we had a fan get a literal haircut of Lionel Messi’s face on the back of his head, and now we’ve officially gotten the second body art commemorating the eventful World Cup in Qatar.

Argentina footballer Emiliano ‘Dibu’ Martinez said that he was getting back at the French supporters when he made a controversial gesture after collecting the Golden Glove trophy for the best goalkeeper at the 2022 World Cup.

Now, the iconic moment was captured in an eternal freeze frame as one fan decided to get the outline of Martinez in the position as a tattoo.

Martinez had placed the glove against his crotch and adopted a bizarre facial expression. ‘I did it because the French were booing me’ he said, and that he ‘can’t be doing with arrogance.’

He had produced a similar gesture after picking up the goalkeeper of the tournament award back in Argentina’s 2021 Copa America win.

Malta Public Transport would like to remind the public that Special Services, including the special transport service operating on New Year’s Eve, are included in the Free Public Transport scheme. In order to benefit from free public transport, passengers are required to own a valid personalised Tallinja Card and tap it against the ticket machine every time they board the bus. Passengers without Tallinja Cards will need to purchase their ticket on board the bus.

Viva Malta National Offshore Sailing Boat launched

The Viva Malta National Offshore Sailing Boat, which will provide an opportunity for Maltese sailors to compete in the international offshore circuit, has been officially launched.

The launch was held at the Mediterranean Maritime Hub and presided over by Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Capital Projects Aaron Farrugia and Minister for Education, Sport, Youth, Research and Innovation Clifton Grima, together with Yachting Malta and Sports Malta. The sailing boat was blessed by Mons. Victor Grech.

Viva Malta will now be passed on to Sport Malta and Malta Sailing Federation, who will work together to administer this initiative.

Minister Aaron Farrugia said that the Viva Malta National Offshore Sailing Boat concept has been made possible through an investment of approximately €400,000, born through an initiative submitted by Yachting Malta with the full support of the government.

Minister Clifton Grima stated that, “The ministry and Sport Malta are always seeking to find means and opportunities to support our sportsmen. The initiative we are launching is one of the various projects that are currently ongoing, in this case we are giving our support to sportsmen and a sports discipline that has registered great progress in these last years. I hope that through this initiative we will record more successes both on a personal basis for the sportsmen involved as well as on a national scale”.

Yachting Malta CEO Michael Mifsud said that, “This was a dream of Yachting Malta to spearhead a project whereby Malta will have its own Offshore Sailing Project, to compete in the international offshore circuit. We firmly believe that this project stands to promote Malta as a centre of excellence in yachting.”

Sport Malta CEO Mark Cutajar stated that, “Today, we will have the passage of transfer from Yachting Malta to Sport Malta so that the entity passes Viva Malta to Malta Sailing Federation, so that more children and young people continue to approach the sport of sailing which has always been synonymous with us Maltese through the Rolex Middle Sea Race and other various competitions.”
