Maltese And Irish Soldiers serving In Lebanon Honoured In Prestigious Medal Parade

The Armed Forces of Malta (AFM) posted to social media that the UNP 2-45 held a medal parade honoring Maltese and Irish soldiers who serve in the unifil (United Nations Interim Force In Lebanon) mission.

In a post dedicated to their hardworking of peace and security in southern Lebanon.

This year’s ceremony happened to coincided with st.Patrick’s day, they celebrated the strong bond between the two nations.

Since 2018, Maltese and Irish soldiers have worked side by side in situations when duty calls.

Żabbar Road has undergone a major transformation.

Before: Narrow footpaths, minimal greenery, and poor lighting made the area less accessible and welcoming.
After: A pedestrian-friendly space with wider walkways, safer crossings, and a 1 km shared mobility lane for cyclists and pedestrians.

With 3,223 trees and plants now in place, the area is greener, improving air quality and supporting biodiversity.

New footpath lighting ensures better visibility and a safer environment after dark.

Żabbar Road is now more accessible, safer, and a more enjoyable space for the community.

From a congested road to a greener, people-centred space, this transformation enhances daily life for residents and visitors alike.

3 Boys, 1 Girl From Gaza Arrive In Malta For Medical Aid

Prime Minister Robert Abela issued a post of welcome that announced that 3 boys and 1 girl from Gaza, Palestine will be receiving medical aid in Malta at Mater Dei Hospital.

‘We will continue to offer humanitarian aid as we keep pushing in favour of peace’, wrote the Prime Minister.

The Civil Protection department issued a post as well, detailing how over the past months the CPD’s International Affairs Officers, through the EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid Mechanism, have been working on a delicate and important operation.

The kids arrived in Malta this morning with their guardians and are set to receive aid at Mater Dei.

The CPD thanked the Malta International Airport, the Mater Dei Hospital Emergency Department, AWAS and the Malta Police Force for the assistance in making the operation a success.
