European Parliament President Roberta Metsola shared that she attended the historic reopening of Notre-Dame Cathedral, marking the completion of years of extensive restoration work.
In a post on Instagram, Metsola revealed that she joined world leaders from across the globe to celebrate the majestic cathedral’s revival. She described it as rising “proudly again from the ashes after an impressive restoration.”
The iconic Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris had been closed for nearly five years following a devastating fire that broke out on its roof, causing significant structural damage.
Concluding her post, Metsola called the reopening a momentous occasion, highlighting the cathedral as “a landmark that unites religion, art, history, culture, and heritage into a magnificent masterpiece France and Europe offer to the world.”
