Roberta Metsola Meets Her Cousin, Master Chef Winner

May 26 2024 Share

European Parliament president Roberta Metsola has met up with her cousin, Master Chef winner and dentist Nicolas Bezzina.

It has been a busy couple of weeks for the family as it was only days ago that dentist Nicolas Bezzina managed to beat out finalists David and Ray George to win the first season of Master Chef Malta and in a couple of days Roberta Metsola will be in the midst of another MEP election.

Bezzina who along with being named the first ever Master Chef Malta winner also won €25,000 which he has stated will be donated to charity and an opportunity to open a restaurant with the help of db group which he rejected due to his busy schedule.

It looks like Metsola who has been in Malta campaigning for yet another successful MEP election has also been making time for family reconnecting with family members who she must rarely see due to her demanding job as President of the European Parliament.

The Prime Minister said that when asked this question, he answers with respect by saying that when it comes to work, the government is always ‘gass mal-pjanċa’ (feet on the gas pedal), whether there is an election or not.

Grillo’s outstanding performance continued in the final, where he finished third with an impressive time of 10.23 seconds. However, due to an assisting wind of +2.7, this time will not count as a new national record.

Grillo also contributed to another record-breaking feat as part of Malta’s men’s relay team. Alongside Luke Bezzina, Graham Pellegrini, and Jacob El Aida Chaffey, the team set a new national record in the 4x100m relay with a time of 40.57 seconds.

This surpassed the previous record of 40.63 seconds set in 2005 by Jeandre Mallia, Rachid Chouhal, Mario Bonello, and Darren Gilford during the GSSE in Andorra.
