Robert Abela's claims today prove that he sent a drone to Bernard Grech's house, says PN

The Nationalist Party has stated that Robert Abela’s comments today “prove that he did in fact illegally send a drone over the Opposition leader’s house in an attempt to build a story out of nothing.”

Representatives of the party have highlighted the fact the two party leaders’ cases with regards to their residences have nothing to do with each other – stating that while Grech’s case is within the development scheme an only involves minor internal alterations a slight additions, ‘Abela’s case is an ODZ one’.

It was argued that Abela’s permit infringes Outside Development Zone (ODZ) policy which only allows 200 square metres within the area, as opposed to the 352 square metres approved. It was then claimed that the most damning aspect of the issue is the fact that “to justify the permit, the case officer mentioned the demolition of a 400 square metre shed which had been demolished 20 years earlier,” going on to hold that the 20 year issue was never mentioned in the report.

Addressing a meeting on Siggiewi on Monday evening, Nationalist Party leader Bernard Grech had a lot to say on the role of Malta’s youth in the community.

Grech highlighted his party’s stance on youth, discussing some of the relevant measures which directly affect them and their families such as first-time buyers under 25 years of age receiving subsidies which cover 50 per cent of interest on loans of €250,000 for the first five years. The PN leader went on to discuss how a Nationalist Government will open a specialised secondary school every year  ‘so that students can reach their full potential in the sectors they aspire to get into’.

During his political, Bernard Grech also stated that Malta’s current government ‘lacks planning’ and to this day ‘still hides its electoral programme’ before going on to state that they are currently sending cheques to everyone before ‘continuing to steal from the people after the election’.

Mass rallies met with backlash as schoolchildren & graduation ceremonies remain restricted

Mass rallies met with backlash as schoolchildren & graduation ceremonies remain restricted
Mar 14 2022 Share

As political mass rallies continue to welcome thousands of individuals with little to no COVID-19 restrictions in place, a number of local communities have expressed their frustration with the restrictions that remain in place for their everyday practice.

During a recent graduation ceremony, a graduand criticised political parties and leaders for the inconsistency in COVID-19 regulation, as relatives were forced to watch the graduation from a big screen in a separate hall. While thanking the University of Malta for the effort made to organise such ceremonies, the student argued that political leaders are not following these same rules.

Elsewhere, a local platform for parents by the name of ‘Island Bebe Malta’ published a video titled ‘Unmask the kids’ which features young schoolchildren expressing their day-to-day difficulties brought about by wearing masks at school. Some students stated that the masks they are being forced to wear are suffocating while others expressed that they don’t remember the they were mask-less at school.

“Meanwhile, mass public events are happening all over the island”, the video stated as it went on to appeal to the relevant authorities that it is time to unmask their children.
