Man arrested for infecting 22 people with COVID-19 in Mallorca

Apr 25 2021 Share

A man from Mallorca has been arrested with suspicion of assault after infecting 22 people with COVID-19 by going to work and the gym despite showing symptoms.

Spanish police had been investigating an outbreak in the town of Manacor towards the end of January, with reports of an individual ‘becoming infected but hiding his illness’.

The man not only ignored advice to go home but deliberately lowered his mask to cough and saying “I’m going to infect you all with coronavirus”, eventually infecting a number of colleagues and their family members, including three one-year-old babies, and a number of regulars at his gym.
