A rescued sea turtle named ‘Eva’ has prompted calls for further awareness on waste disposal after the creature was found with a hook & significant amounts of expelled marine debris.
In a post published by ‘Nature Trust – FEE Malta’, the environmental NGO appealed to beachgoers and boat users to dispose of their waste properly and leave no trace, otherwise jeopardising the wellbeing and habitats of marine life at large.
Nature Trust’s post also exhibited the sizeable portion of marine debris expelled by the turtle, with a pen alongside them for scale.
The environmental organisation urged anyone who spots any injured or endangered wild animals, except birds, to call the Wildlife Rescue Team on 99999505.
The post also went on to state that anyone who wishes to donate can send a bank or Revolut transfer. Followers may also adopt, with the €30 fund going to medicine and food for wildlife in rehab.
