Animal Welfare has announced the unfortunate passing of one of the 28 pitbull terriers rescued earlier this week from a house in Żebbuġ.
Despite the dedicated efforts of veterinarians, Bronko succumbed to his injuries, as revealed in a heartbreaking announcement last night.
“The remaining dogs continue to receive necessary treatment,” Animal Welfare affirmed, referring to the group of pitbull terriers rescued from a residence on Triq Għarram last Thursday.
“Unfortunately, Bronko, one of the dogs rescued earlier this week by Animal Welfare, lost his battle because of his grievous injuries. Although veterinarians within the Animal Welfare department have done everything possible in recent days, Bronko succumbed to his injuries.”
Reports indicated that some dogs were kept in metal chains and unsanitary conditions, with many, like Bronko, suffering from wounds and neglect. Among the rescued animals were two tiny puppies.
