Replay Host Urges Joseph Muscat To Resign

Replay Host Urges Joseph Muscat To Resign
May 7 2024 Share

Journalist and NET TV’s ‘Replay’ host Christian Micallef has urged former Prime Minister and current Premier League Chairman Joseph Muscat to resign from the latter position.

In a social media statement, Micallef wrote how he showed respect to the person and the Premier League teams when they chose Joseph Muscat to take the position.

Saying that despite being able to make a distinction between politics and football and despite disagreeing with Muscat politically, he did not include politics into the game of football.

‘However, at this moment, as a person who lives Maltese football everyday, I cannot not speak out for the good of the game.’

‘It could have been anyone else and not Joseph Muscat, but I would have said the same: considering all that is going on, Muscat has to have the decency to resign from the chairman position until he clears his name.’

‘If not, the clubs need to put forth a vote of confidence or no confidence in regards to him’.

‘If we want football to be clean of politics, this is the only road Muscat should take at this moment. He should only return when or/and if he is cleared of every confrontation against him.’

Reiterating the support he’s shown him despite his previous political leadership, he says that this moment requires such a move by Muscat so as not to taint the game of football.

Animal Welfare Gozo took to social media to share the story of Ġiġi – a dog abandoned in Munxar, Gozo tied up in a little plastic bag inside a paper sack.

‘Are we still living in a world where we think it is acceptable to put dogs in bags? Are we still living in a world where we can choose to turn a blind eye in such situations?’

‘Thankfully, passers-by noticed Ġiġi and heard his cries for help. They immediately called Animal Welfare, where our officers went on site.’

Ġiġi was riddled in fleas, anemic and emaciated. Now under the care of Animal Welfare Gozo, the NGO promised to do its utmost for Ġiġi.

‘To the public: If you know anything about this case or recognise this dog, please get in touch with us. Thank you!’

D’Amato Records Pokes Fun At ‘The Establishment’ Talk

D'Amato Records Pokes Fun At 'The Establishment' Talk
May 7 2024 Share

Taking to social media, D’Amato Records, the famed oldest records shop in the world located in Valletta, has poked fun at all the ‘establishment’ talk currently consuming local politics.

‘We are the establishment (the music one)’, wrote the page on social media.

Established back in 1885, the records shop wrote: ‘a lot of talk about establishments… maybe we deserve to be the music one?’

What do you think?

Is D’Amato Records the establishment of music?

Jokes aside, concerns over the pin-pointing of who the establishment is arose when Prime Minister Robert Abela implied certain journalists as well as PN members are part of the ‘establishment. The latter have in turn pointed to the current Prime Minister as well as former PM Joseph Muscat as deserving of that title.
