Love Island Malta’s iconic memes have extended their impact across our own islands as DJ Debrii brings Dale’s ‘relaxed bello?’ to a Croatian club.

Playing at the Noa Beach Club, our very own and locally beloved DJ Daniel Briffa got to give the party-goers in Croatia not just a taste of the local music scene.

They were treated to, arguably, Malta’s most popular catchphrase at the moment, which was delivered to us in all its glory by Love Islander Dale as he asked Allen whether he was feeling comfy on his beanbag.

Let’s see if this catchphrase catches on in Croatia as well!

And of course, well done to Daniel!

Some facts ahead of the Champions League final

Some facts ahead of the Champions League final
Jun 10 2023 Share

A total of 22 clubs have won the Champions League/European Cup. Real Madrid holds the record for the most victories, having won the competition fourteen times, including the inaugural edition. They have also achieved the most consecutive wins, with five straight titles from 1956 to 1960. Juventus has been the runner-up the most times, losing in seven finals. Atlético Madrid is the only team to reach three finals without winning the trophy.

Regarding the Champions League finals reached, Manchester City has reached the final twice, first in 2021 against Chelsea and this year against Inter Milan. On the other hand, Inter Milan has reached the UCL final a total of six times.

When it comes to Champions League victories, Manchester City is still chasing their first Champions League glory, which has become the club’s main goal in recent years. In contrast, Inter Milan has won the tournament three times, in 1964, 1965, and most recently in 2010 against Bayern Munich. They have also lost two finals, and tonight’s Champions League final puts them as the least favourite to win.

As for the prize money, in the last season, Real Madrid collected €83.2 million in Champions League performance-based prize money, including an additional €4.5 million for winning the UEFA Super Cup in August 2022.

In the 2022/23 Champions League, winning the entire competition with a perfect group-stage performance would earn a maximum prize money payout of €85.14 million. However, neither Manchester City nor Inter Milan, this year’s finalists, managed to win all their group games.

In terms of clubs with the most Champions League victories, Real Madrid is known as the Champions League Kings, having won it a total of 14 times. AC Milan, who reached the semifinals this year, has won it seven times. Bayern Munich has also won the tournament six times.

TAG SOMEONE WHO HAD A LIGHTNING MCQUEEN LUNCH BOX!

We truly are getting old. Disney Pixar’s ‘Cars’ was released 17 years ago on June 9th of 2006 (in the US).

The movie attracted car fanatics to enter a world where their vehicles were the main characters as they spoke, raced and cracked jokes.

The movie grossed over $450 million in the global box office on its own, with its two sequels grossing over $1.4 billion.

Despite having mixed reactions by fans of Pixar overall, the movie went on to sell massive amounts of merchandise. We all knew that one kid with the Lightning McQueen lunchbox!

Do you know of any other movies released in 2006?
